If the videos are recorded in black and white your out of luck. If your trying to watch videos recorded in color on a black and white tv, get a color tv.

Hi
As the black and white pic got a snall cross dot patten all over it. If this so the input on your tv that connects to the dvd player as been set to s-video you can change this with remote on tv . regards windyhouse
Well, if the program is showing in color on the TV, then the TV is fine. If she's recording using a VCR, then I presume she doesn't have a cable box? If she doesn't have a cable box and has the cable from the wall going into the VCR and the VCR connected to the TV, then the problem is the VCR if the program appears in color when showing "live" on the TV but black and white when played back on the VCR. Does that make sense? Let me know if you understand what I'm telling you.
I suspect that you have the video standard is incorrect. Ensure you are recording in the same format as the signal you recieve. IE: NTSC or PAL. Whatever but they should both be the same. IE: Signal recieved = NTSC Video recorder must be set NTSC as well. Same goes for PAL.
for the black and white screen output of your DVD and VCR.
1) for DVD player: using remote control locate "setup" button and click.a dialogue box should appear indicating " audio setup" video setup" etc..... 2) select and scroll to "video setup". in video setup there should be an option to choose "AUTO" "PAL" or "NTSC" 3) choose "auto" then check if any change in screen color.
for VCR, locate a switch or button indicating "PAL" "Auto""PAL SECAM" "NTSC". same with the dvd choose and select "auto"
note: if you still have the manual for both VCR and DVD check the instruction with regards to video color setting.
Make sure you plug your camcorder into the in on the dvd recorder. Make sure the dvd recorder is set to that input. you may need to hook it up to a tv and make sure you see your camera on the tv going through the dvd recorded to make sure you have it on the right setting. Make sure you camera has playback out turned on.
