Agitator sounds as if it's stripped

Admiral Capacity Plus washing machine agitator sounds as if it's stripped after daughter ran full load on medium water level. Still works, but is noisy during agitation part of cycle and seems to be getting worse. Can I fix this myself at home?

The agitator and drive gearbox are all one part and are not serviceable (sealed), if it is the gearbox the machine is possibly scrap as the part is more expensive than a new machine. Will need further investigation.
Is the spin OK (quiet) the motor rotates one way to agitate and the other way in fast to spin, the belt may be removed at the middle pulley (Below) rotated in each direction to test. try the machine without the belt and listen to motor.

I have an Admiral ATW4475XQ0 washing machine and the agitator doesn't feel like it's agitating with full force.

Hi,

Please double check that you're accounting for the weight of the clothes in the washer. Lighter clothes should produce a lower sound and heavier loads should be much louder. If possible, you can add some oil around the rotating portion of the machine in order to lower friction.

Thank you.

There is cloth stuck under the aggitator on my Capacity plus Admiral washing machine. Model #lnc6766B71 how do I remove the aggitator

As a general rule Admiral is a VERY inexpensive machine, so you may be better off with a new one if the parts prove expensive. MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG MACHINE.. Be careful the agitator doesn't come loose suddenly when you are removing it, I have seen more than one bruise on the face from this.. hold your head to the side when pulling it off. http://www.rakerappliancerepair.com/NephewClub/Diagnostics/Washers/Maytag/Maytag%20TL%20Bulletin%20TDL-0086-B.pdf

Agitator comes off during cycle in my admiral capacity plus washer. How do I fix it?

If the bolt is still on top. it was probably screwed too tight and wore through. then you need a new agitator

My Sear Kenmore washing macbine will barely agitate when using the full size load. It barely moves, but on small or medium loads it works fine. What seems to be my problem?\r\nModel #110.26292692 SN#...

Take and turn the agitator by hand. It should only turn one way. If the agitator will turn freely either way, then you will need to replace the "agitator dogs" that go in the top of the agitator. Take a look at this video.

WHat is the capacity of the Whirlpool LLR9245BQ1 top load washer?

Hello there
  • Washer Type: Washer
  • Load Type: Top Load
  • Volume Capacity: 3.2 cu/ ft
is one of the better, super-sized porcelain-on-steel wash basket, combined with the Xtra roll action plus agitator, which ensures that your really big loads get really clean! The dual action of the Xtra Roll Action Plus agitator rolls even huge loads to the bottom of the wash basket where cleaning takes place. It can effectively roll over and clean twice the average size load! Plus, wash fewer loads to save time, money and energy! Ultimate Care washers offer both five and six speed combinations providing flexibility for the future in fabric care. Plus, the easy-to- use consoles makes it simple to select the desired wash/spin speed combination. And the enhanced agitator vanes ensure clothes roll over for consistent cleaning -

Load squeal when it in the agitation cycle.

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Admiral Washer model #LNC6757 will not agitate

Possibly a loose agitator, try lifting the agitator, if it lifts then it is un secure, remove the softener cap and down inside the agitator you will see the fixing bolt,
You will need to lift out the agitator to retrieve the bolt if it has come fully un done, refit the agitator and secure using a socket and long extension bar.

WHAT IS THE LOAD CAPCITY SIZE OF WASHER MODEL 110.20702990

On newer, and sometimes a little newer, Whirlpool and Kenmore (Kenmore is made by Whirlpool) considers a few things in determing capacity. Most of the inner baskets are the same size, but they also add in agitator action into the mix. A Kenmore with an auger top agitator would have higher capacity than a Kenmore with just a normal agitator, even though it has the same sized drum. So a super capacity washer would have theoretically less CLEANING CAPACITY than a super capacity plus. The agitator action is actually what determines capacity on these models. So, with that in mind, cubic load should be about the same on both units. Sorry that I had to go into "Bill Nye The Washer Guy" mode, but thats about the only way to describe. Let me know if I can confuse you any more haha. Seriously though, if you need further help or info, write back, and will try to get you some other information. Remember, this theory only works on top load "normal people" washers, not the front loaders.
