If you talking about the drain trap, its very easy to clean. pop open the bottom panel by removing the three screws under it. requires a torx bit or a nut driver. if you can tilt the washer back so the front legs are a foot or 2 off the ground, it will make this a lot easier. once open you will see a twist off cap. before you remove this be prepared for the residual water to eject out when you open it. these can not get all the water out so there is always some, tilting it back will minimise this or putting hose clamps on the pump to tub hose can help but not nesesarry. twist it out and clean it out, also stick your fing into the two holes where the trap is located to see if any coins have gotten stuck. once clean, make sure you line up the trap arrow with the base. then button it back up, good luck

Kenmore elite h3 front load washer is not working error code f2 flashes

Hello,

The F2 error code mean that the washer didn't drain the water within the normal time it takes to drain, usually the reson the washer hasn't drained properly is because the filter screen on the drain pump is clogged with debris. this tip i have written will show ya how to clean the filter on the pump.

How do you get to the drain filter on a kenmore elite he3 washer to clean it?

The following link explains how to access the drain pump on a Kenmore Elite HE3 front loader to clean the drain pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385844-checking_drain_pump_kenmore_elite_front

If you are experiencing drainage issues and cleaning the pump does not work, you may have to replace the drain pump. You will usually experience an "F2", "SUD" or "F21" error code (depending on model number) for a drain blockage problem. Since this error code occurs when the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump motor or impeller becomes damaged, the pump will not pump at the required volume and the error code will continue to occur. Replacement pumps can be purchased on line at:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop all of them for the best deal.

NOTE: Make sure you also check the drain hose and the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the drain pump. Small articles of clothing can commonly get lodged in this area.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 front loader washer. I

"F02" is a Long Drain error. The error code is generated when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. In most cases this means you need to clean out the trap on the drain pump. The following link explains the error and how you need to remedy the problem. There is a follow-on link included that explains how to access the drain pump and clean it: http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore If the error code reappears after you clean out the drain pump, you may need to replace the pump. If the pump motor or impeller is damaged and it is not pumping at the correct volume, the error code will continue until the pump is replaced.

A replacement pump (if needed) can be purchased at any of the following web sites:

searspartsdirect.com
appliancepartspros.com
pcappliancerepair.com
repairclinic.com

Use whatever part source you like, but I have found these sites to be the most reliable and offer competitive pricing.

If you have questions, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Clothes smell like mildew

this sounds like you keep your washer's lid closed when you aren't using it. The water that stays in the tub ( it doesn't drain all the way, no matter how hard you want it to ) will become stagnant and then mold up. That will be the source of the mildew smell. If you want to clean it completely, you need to disassemble it and clean it by hand as there are no methods that I know of to clean it with any cycles on the machine :( Sorry

You need to keep the washer's lid open when it's not being used to prevent this in the future

Need to know how to clean lint trap and where is lint trap located on the Kenmore He3 washer

The only trap on a Kenmore Elite HE3 is in the drain pump. The following link explains how to access and clean it out:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385844-checking_drain_pump_kenmore_elite_front

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I personally own one of these washers and have repaired them many times. If you are experiencing drain problems, the problem will most commonly be attributed to the drain pump trap becoming clogged with debris. There's usually an error code associated with this problem of "F02". If you attempt to clean the drain pump and you discover the pump to be clear, check the drain lines (especially the line running from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the pump). If all these preliminary checks don't solve the problem, the manufacturer recommends replacing the drain pump.

If this is not what you were talking about, please post back and elaborate a bit more so I can understand the problem you are having. I hope this helps you.

Takes almost 2 hours to complete a wash cycle

Have you ever cleaned it out? Its likely due to a plugged drain, not allowing the system to drain fast enough for the normal cycle. Check out my solution on

Water leaking from water pump cap

Not that I know of. All sources I have found show this as one complete unit which includes the pump motor, reservoir housing and clean out trap (cover). The cost varies between $70 and $120. What I would recommend, before you assume you need to replace anything, is to remove the cover and clean the threads on the housing and cap really well and dry them. Then, apply a film of petrolium jelly on the threads and screw the cap back in place nice and snug. If there is an o-ring, make sure it is not torn or kinked, and is seated in the its groove properly. NOTE: O-rings can be found at any automotive or hardware store is you need a replacement. If there are no visible cracks on the reservoir cap, this should work. I would recommend that you remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and use a wet/dry shop vac to drain all the residual water in the tub and drain lines BEFORE removing the cap. This will minimize any clean up you may have. I hope this helps you. Let me know what you find.

HE3 DRYER

Clean all of the lint from the inside cabinet and duct work of your dryer. Then, try to clear the odor, by running a couple of loads of old rags or towels. Good luck!
