Disk finalization error

Sometimes mine does this when the battery needs to be charged.

If your camera finalized the same type (+R, +RW, -R, -RW) of disk previously, the problem may be the disk itself. Some 2% of the disks (no-brand and copy-brand disks even higher %-age) are faulty and either do not allow recording at all or fail at some point.

This is Disc Access Error, Disk Access Error, Check disc error, Check disk, C error unreadable, disc error code 13, disk error code c1302, c:13:O2 DISC ERROR, Disc Error C:13:02 message Sony mini dvd finalize error code C1302 DVD not finalised, Rec Disabled Record Disable after dropping the camera, DVD not finalized, DVD Disc not finalized, DVD Disk not finalized, DVD Disc not finalised, DVD Disk not finalised, Disc won't finalize, Disk won't finalise DVD Disc Error, DVD Disk Error, DVD Disc Format Error, DVD Disk Format Error, Rec. Disable, not correct disk, the disk in drive is not formatted do you want to format it now.

Samsung support just told me that there has to be some space left on the disc to finalize it. In other words if you fill the disc with too much video, the disc won't be able to write the necassary info on the disc to finalize it. Support told me you needed 10MB to finalize. He also told me to leave 7- 10 minutes of free space which is ridiculous because the disc only records 20 minutes. I have complained to Samsung about this ommission from the manual and that the camcorder should know to leave enough space to finalize the disc.>

Here is how to finalize a disk in your camcorder.
1) Plug in the power adapter, and put in the disk you want to finalize.
2) Press the function button. If your disk was recorded in VR mode, then go to step 3. If not, go to step 4.
3) Scroll right to get to menu.
4) Scroll down to get to Disk Functions.
5) Scroll down again to get to Finalize.
6) Scroll down again to Yes.
7) Press the function button.
8) Wait until it's done, then you can play your disk in a DVD player.

Remember, (very important). Don't touch or bump it while it's finalizing a disk. If you disturb it, you can mess up your disk.

You have to plug in the AC adapter to finalize a disc. It won't "finalize" on the battery alone.

to finalize the disk for enabling discs to be  played on other devices. Connect this unit to the AC adaptor. Finalization cannot be executed using a battery. Rotate the mode dial to select the arrow. Press the MENU button, then select SETUP, FINALIZE, YES and press the joystick. Select whether or not to create a top menu, then press the joystick. When the confirmation message appears, select YES then press the joystick. hope this helps you. julie

to finalize you must plug in your AC power supply. then finalize your dvd.

you just need to replace optical pick up of the set. It must be costing abt rs 6500/-
