I lost the belt clip for my Sony SRFM37V. Where can I get a replacement at a reasonable cost?

I assuming you mean a horseshoe clip that holds something on. I would get another. They are not fitted for the fun of it you know!

Try changing the (only) belt the player has with a brand new one. Go to www.partstore.com. I believe it costs more than $10. Clean the pulleys with isoprophyll alcohol using a cotton swab after removing the old belt.
After you remove the top cover, take a careful look how the belt is placed. Don't unscrew anything. The belt can be removed and replaced without removing any screw. A paper clip will help if you don't have the right belt removal & replacement tool. A commercial CD lens cleaner (I use Scotch brand) will greatly help. Just insert it in your magazine and run for a few seconds to a minute. This is not a sure fire solution but most of the problems in this model is attributed to an loose/overstretched old belt and a dirty laser lens. I hope this helps & good luck!

the waterpump on this car is turned by the timing belt, when you replace the waterpump on this car the timing belt should be replaced no doubt about it, the timing belt must be replaced and also the pulleys checked and if the car have 100,000 miles or more the timing belt pulleys must be replaced. the reason for this is that if for any reason the belt jumps or breakes then engine damage will occur, the pistons will bend the valves and this is very costly, there is no extra labor to do the belt it has to be removed to do the waterpump you would just pay for the parts, for example to do a waterpump it would run about $400.00, then to do it right with a waterpump timing belt and pulleys it would run 500.00,i think its a wise thing to do.this car only uses one pulley that needs replacing so i said pulleys but rather just a pulley that runs in this belt design. good day, heres a few diagrams to help explain how it works.

There is no internal battery on the Sony SRV-M37V. Presets are held in non-volatile RAM and don't need power to maintain the settings.

Your problem is that the hold switch is not disengaging. Either the contact below the switch has gotten gummed up and won't release, or perhaps the switch is broken.

You can try spraying a tiny (very tiny) amount of Contact Cleaner (available at Radio Shack for less than $5) into the switch. Or disassemble the unit to see why the switch isn't making contact like it should. Hope that helps!

The Sony call center says the two belts are the same size. Supposedly, there is a third belt "under the motor board" but I have not been able to find it. That is the 42x1.2 (4219362601). The two easy ones to replace are 421606101 and only cost 1.95 from Sony.

There is a small clip with one wire on it at the base of the seat belt where it connects to the floor. It might be broken, or the switch inside the belt clip is faulty. If the wire is fine and connected the belt clip side needs replacing

These parts are available directly from Shure. They are not expensive. I don't have the part number with me, but a call to Shure service should get you both the number and cost.

Remove the bottom plate that covers the brush roll and remove the roller. The plate is removed by releasing two clips at the back corners of the plate on either side. Take the roller and install the belt around the pulley and put the other end of the belt through the access hole in the vacuum body. Replace the roller and turn it by haand to ensure that the belt is not pinched. Replace the bottom plate and turn the roller again (same reason).
If you look at the area beside the rear wheel between the hood and the main body, you will see a clip incorporated into the hood. Take a screwdriver and pry it away from the main body. Do this on both sides. You will find a similar clip at the hood just beside the back corner of the plate in the front where the plate clips are located. Pry these as well and hood will come loose. Now you can turn the machine back on its' wheels and remove the hood. You will see the belt where it comes through the main body and you can grab it with a couple of fingers and stretch it onto the motor shaft. Replace the hood and the job is done.

Hi carolinen, sorry to hear you lost the sender, they make them so small they just ask to get lost! It is possible to buy a replacement sender, but I would not recommend as it costs a little more than it would to buy a new v400. So if you do require another the same, I recommend you check out ebay,where there are quite a few v400s for sale at reasonable prices. Hope this helps! Si :)
