It sounds as if your on-board graphics has stopped working. If you have a graphics card to try installing it. That may solve your problem. If not you will have to contact Dell about a motherboard replacement. the last time I looked at a Dell XPS system you can't install a retail motherboard in it.

My acer veriton desk top is not booting up and giving a beep continues beep also moniter is not displyaing omething

This is likely a result of the computer not recognizing the monitor. During the POST test during startup,the computer will check for a video output. It can range from the video card failing to just not having the monitor plugged in. I would check you connections, perhaps try a different monitor, even a television that has either HDMI, DVI, or VGA input. If that does not fix it, it is likely your graphics card or on board graphics from the motherboard. Is there anything new since the last time the computer worked? How old is your PC?

Try pulling out your video card and your memory chips, then re-seat them and restart. If the computer doesn't start, take either the memory or the video card out, then try to restart.Listen to the beep as it resarts, and if there is a change in the beep code, you have found your faulty part.

It does not start, gives one long beep (about 2-3 seconds) silence and beep again

Switching DDR cards solved the problem. I was getting long beeps every 2 seconds. No short beeps. Just one long beep every 2 seconds. Thanks Josh Whitehead.

5 beeps and no display

5 beeps is processor(cpu) failure

are they long? short?

Try another processor on the computer and see if it works.
do you get the same beeps if you place the old card back in?

Whats the brand and model of the motherboard?

its reads between the cpu and memory and also between the expansion slots, and possibly on top of a heatsink

let me know

Thanks,
