Can't print envelopes made by "Greeting Card Factory" v7 on an HP B209a-m. Cards (.fgc file) print OK but envelopes (.fev files) won't print (envelope won't go into the print area; spoolvs.exe take 99% of the PC, HP screen says "Now printing").

The problem centered around the fact that the HP209 would only print 8.5X11 sheets from Greeting Card Factory. Any other size seized up the pring spool.

We're going to return the HP (We think it's defective) and get an Epson.

How to print greeting card envelopes with the HP Officejet 6500

Doubler, Please use the word processor to do it. In Word go to file - page setup and select envelope and then the size of the envelope. And then on the printer look for a slot where an envelope is made. Insert the envelopes there and give the print command in Word.

Smaller items will only feed crookedly into the printer document

Check to see if you are feeding the envelopes and 4x6 cards/photo paper correctly.

Both envelopes and 4x6 cards must be loaded and centered on the paper exit tray (not inside the paper input tray).

Printing envelopes:
  • Up to 15 envelopes can be loaded at a time.
  • The print side of the envelope faces down.
  • The envelopesare centered on the paper exit tray.
  • You print the envelopes with Landscape orientation.
Printing cards:
  • Up to 35 greeting cards, index cards, postcards, or photo cardscan be loaded at a time.
  • The print side of the cards faces down.
  • The cards are centered on the paper exit tray.
  • You select Automatic, Normal, or Photo print quality.

For images on how to correctly load the paper, download your printer user's guide:

Need to print a half-fold card envelope with HP Photosmart C4480

I'm printing wedding invitation envelopes (or A6) and had to set both my C4480 and psc1315 to a regular size 8.5x11 letter size but changed my margins to reflect the smaller size for my envelope with the left side of the screen being the more narrow margin. After adjusting the top margin accordingly, I fed the envelopes, flap side down and straight into the printer and voila...envelope addresses are printed. Good luck. Blu

Printing envelopes

If you look closely at the very front of the paper tray, just to the left of the sliding thing that keeps the paper from drifting out of the front, you will see a couple of illustrations showing how to position envelopes in the paper feeder. For regular letter-sized envelopes, or even greeting card envelopes, place them face down with the top of the envelope pointing to the left as you are facing the printer. The return address area should be away from you. Position the envelope all the way to the right side of the paper feeder, then gently slide the envelope all the way back until it is stops so that it is accessible by the paper feeder. Bear in mind that it will be flipped over when it comes out. To avoid wasting an envelope, do a trial print on a piece of paper to make sure you understand the positioning correctly. Good luck!
