This appears to be a tricky machine.....
By this time most manuals were generic like that without a name on them, there were so many badged identical machines that a separate printing for each name was out of the question. So many machines didn't even get a badge until they reached their destination country.
No manuals for it. Set a watch for it on eBay. There are similar Necchi.

I have never been able to find the knob you are writing about soooo_ You will need to buy a new tension assembly. They come in different sizes so the best thing will be to take it to a technician. should be able to have it replaced for under $25 sewman7
Either you have the setting on a variation of ZZ which steps forward several stitches then one to the side (ZZ), so check that first.
If you are certain it is on the correct ZZ setting, and this is a recent purchase, phone the dealer tell them the issue and arrange to take it back for them to adjust, it is almost certainly ever so slightly out of timing.
