So I went to shut my Laptop down and after 3min. or so the screen was still "Saving My Settings", I proceeded to Hit the Power off button. The screen went black but the power light stayed on and the volume on/off light came on, and a fan came on. Now no matter what I do, I cannot turn it completely off, or get it to start up again.
Please help me if you can...
Yes, I have tried that and I can hear a fan turn off after holding the power button down for a few seconds but the power light stays on still. I am getting ready to removing the battery and reinstalling it but I want to be sure not to lose any data.Yes, I have tried that and I can hear a fan turn off after holding the power button down for a few seconds but the power light stays on still. I think the hard drive was trying to write only windows settings while "saving settings", In worst case, you may lose any windows settings such as (example follows) which screen saver you chose before shutting down. Try removing the battery for 30 seconds, but be prepared for a system recovery with F8 key.If it starts powering up, try first getting to BIOS screen and verify that hard drive settings are ok.I think the hard drive was trying to write only windows settings while "saving settings", In worst case, you may lose any windows settings such as (example follows) which screen saver you chose before shutting down. have you tried holding the power button for a long time (5 seconds or more)? If you get it to start powering up, hit the F8 key to see multiple startup options and then choose "start with last known good config..."have you tried holding the power button for a long time (5 seconds or more)?
