I have recently purchased a GE front load washer and every load that I wash, once it goes into the spin cycle, it walks terribly, We have made sure that it is balanced and it spins fine when there is nothing inside. I have washed different combinations of laundry, large loads, small loads and so far nothing has worked, Any suggestions?
I have a LG front loader on a vinyl floor and pretty much on any speed the washer vibrates and shakes very loud. Just about every load the washer has moved forward. All the shipping bolts have been removed. We have it on the pedestal & it still shakes. The pedestal is level & the washer is level. It's so annoying because you hear the washer throughout the house. I was thinking about strapping the washer to a few bolts in the floor to see if that would help but I shouldn't have to do that. Any suggestions?
Is your floor level, first thing. Okay, the rear 2 legs are not adjustable so leave it. The front 2 legs should be screwed up (ie the machine should be at the lowest level in front) and there are check nuts to tighten inside the body of the machine. Check the machine it it rocks by using your hand against it. Adjust accordingly, this is if your floor is not too good. You shd not hv any problem. If the rocking persists check inside machine, behind after getting he plug off wall, maybe shockabsorbers hv come off, springs?.....

Did you set the back feet before leveling? On most units to set and lock the back feet you need to pull the top towards you so that the back is raised off the floor, then set it down again, this will release the feet and lock then down. The you level the two front feet. After this is done you must make sure your load is balanced. Distribute the items as evenly as you can in the tub. Once it gets to the spin cycle if its walking or shaking a lot, stop it and redistribute the items more evenly in the tub. Also try not to overload the unit or combining many heavy items with few light ones. If this is a new machine, did you remove the shipping locks from the back before using it? They have plastic strips attached to them, make sure they have all been removed, as well as any shipping bolts.

Vibration can also cause appliance "walking" (unwanted movement) usually during the spin cycle. Simply installing a pad designed to prevent walking can solve this problem and mean that you'll never have to reposition your washer after every load again. Both Original Silent Feet and Anti-Walk Silent Feet prevent walking, however for washers that move a lot or stacked units it is recommended that you install Anti-Walk Silent Feet for the best results.

the drum straps are probebly broken just remove the front then remove the 2 1\4 inch screws that hold the top on remove the top the straps are located on top of the tub they are black rubber
Hi, most of the time this can be a simple as a overload that will dramatically shake this type of washer. due to its front load design, it is recommeded to load accordingly to specs. overloading this type of washer will induce walking/excessive vibration during the spin cycle.
I have the same Duet that vibrates heavily during spin cycle. Leveled the unit with no success (our unit is mounted on the high base). Long story short, I went to Lowes and purchased a package of 4"X5" self stick foam rubber pads called Grippers by Wasman Consumer Group and paid a low price of $3.50. Since the washer walked forward, I cut one of the two Pads in the package in half, removed the sticky side paper protector and centered a half, sticky side to washer pad, to each front washer pad. The problem was solved.
I made sure the round floor pads of the washer were tight and the unit was level before attaching the Grippers. Hope this helps.
timing is not the probelm off balance load or washer not solid on floor is...front load washer try to balance load as much as possible before full speed spin the 10 min is only and est ..additional time will will be taken trying to balance load and no ge won't do anything about the walking best try getting machine as solid as possible if on pedistal good luck..lower bottom as close to floor as possible both rear legs all the way up adj front legs for solid setting try rocking washer and adj legs till solid..also weak floor?
When we first got our washer home, we had a very scary problem with it "walking" across the floor on the spin cycle. We discovered that we didn't remove the " shipping bolts" They are located on the underneith of the washer. No one told us we had to do that when we purchased the washer.
The rear 2 legs are fixed. The front 2 are adjustable. There are lock nuts to prevent the adjustment from coming loose. The front legs are to be adjusted to the minimum. While not running if the machine rocks, continue the adjustment.
For few clothes there is a half load switch; best the read the manual well before anything. Well if the walking continues, check the rear for any shocks or springs that may hv fallen off during transport. Plug off the wall socket first.
