Download the software and drivers from HP and reinstall.

goto HP printer web site they have all the drivers to download

Download software from HP support: (select your operating system)

Can't get a disk, however the same installation can be accomplished by downloading the files from HP support:

Click on your operating system > Download > Install

Try this, Disconnect the USB printer connection.
Remove the printer from the printer list. The list should be empty.
Re-boot your computer.
Check and make sure their are no other printers in list.
Find your install disks for the printer.
If you do not have a install disk, go to HP and download the printer installation files.
Install the software and do not plugin the printer until it is asked for.
After you install the new drivers and software the printer should be seen by the computer.

your computer will either auto detect software or you'll have to manually go through a list of printer names until you find yours and download the driver for it. If that don't work hp.com is your best bet.
