I am trying to make use of a 1993 Mitsubishi radio from a 93 Plymouth Colt. The color code I have from an electronics store and what is posted on the internet do not jibe with the wires coming out of the radio plug I possess. What is my solution to making this radio work. The plug I have is from a junked car but is from the make and model I described and the plug fits the pin configuration.

If you take your Registration document into your local dealership, they will give you the code for free. Or you can buy to code for about $12 to $18 from a Radio Code seller online by giving them the make and serial number.

These are the same bolt patterns, bolt pattern is 4 X 4.5 or also known as 4 X 114MM. Measure 2 lugholes across from each other and it should measure 4 1/2" US or 114MM. the center hubs may be smaller/larger. Check the center hub size before purchasing:

165-185 temp is usually adequate..go with 185

check the fuel filter, cat, and any other codes

The fuel filter is under the hood, in the middle of the upper firewall, mounted in fuel line.

My 1993 Plymouth Colt Vista is doing something similar. It won't go into any gear - forward or reverse. It probably will need a transmission overhaul or rebuild - looking at just under $2000. Pricing online is $1380 for FWD and $1560 for AWD as of July 2010. Includes a 1 year warrantee and $300 for the core. Does not include labor; just ordering the part.
