Plug the DVD connections into the INPUT on the back of the VCR. This is sending the signal from the DVD player INTO the VCR.
If you are familiar with the VHS to VHS, then remove the VCR and replace it with the DVD player.
I hope this helps :)

No,the DVD player build in tv can't record, only play DVD Disc only.Want to record personal VHS tapes only to DVD Discs, must have a seperate device unit VCR/DVD RECORDER device player not a device unit VCR/DVD PLAYER.Connected to the tv record VHS tapes to DVD Discs.
Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback. Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder. Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed. Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV. Hope this info will help you.
hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.
Don't know your machine, but is it possible that it's seeing your source tape as write protected (missing tab) and so assuming it should not be copied to the DVD?
Best guess...put audio cd into DVD side, Video tape into VHS side. Set the VHS to record in SP, Then record the cd to vhs. then when you are done recording on the vhs, put a blank DVD in the recorder side, and press dubb to DVD to get it to record from vhs to Dvd.
i should imagine so if they are not copy protected films i.e shop ones .if they are tv films on tapes etc then it would be possible to do so. via insert the vhs tape and insert the blank dvd in to its tray play the vhs tape and press rec to record on to dvd . although the manual might give a better guide to doing this .
