Its the antenna problem.either the antenna itself is faulty.but if you have got the antenna checked and its proper then its problem with the connection of antenna.the place where antenna connects is got shorted or the antenna is not got conneted there properly.but if the antenna is old replace the antenna and check out.
Sirius Radio boasts no commercial interruptions with its satellite radio subscription; but, from time to time there are interruptions in the signal. The good news is that problems are usually easy to solve. Most of the time, the solution is as simple as proper placement of the antenna or properly docking the Sirius Radio.

    Signal Obstruction While Driving
  1. When the "Acquiring Signal" message is displayed on your radio while driving, this means there's outside interference. This will usually be remedied as soon as you move through whatever source that is obstructing your signal, such as tunnels or overhanging trees. If this is a frequent problem, ensure that your antenna is mounted somewhere high on your vehicle like your roof.
    1. Signal Obstruction in Your Home
    2. If you are having difficulty with your home receiver acquiring a signal, ensure that the antenna is mounted correctly. If you are using a Sirius indoor/outdoor **** shell antenna, try moving it to a window ledge or an open spot for clearer reception. If you are using an outdoor antenna, make sure it is mounted high on the roof where it is free from obstructions. A high, clear point is always the best placement for an antenna for optimal results.
      1. Antenna Not Detected
      2. If your display is telling you that your antenna is not connected, first make sure that the radio is locked into its dock completely. Once the radio is in its proper position, it should connect to the antenna and work properly. If it doesn't, take a look at the antenna wire itself to make sure it's connected to the receiver or docking station if you are listening at home. If it's still not working, check the wire and make sure that it is not damaged. If it has been damaged, replace the wire.
      3. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

that means the antenna is proper and not faulty so it shows full signal.but antenna is not connected properly to its connecting place or the connecting place of the antenna is faulty.so its not receiving signal but showing full signal.

the connecting place has to be checked by meter and continuity tester to locate the fault and confirm it.

    thanks for keeping updated.

Sirius radio problems

I would do the following, hoping one of them works.

1) DISCONNECT the power to the radio and SiriusXM unit to "clear" it. Then reconnect and ask Sirius to resend signat.

2) Ask Sirius to UNSUBCRIBE that radio so it is deactivated. Then, have them reactivate and resend programing signal.

3) Be sure your car is outside under clear sky when Sirius sends the program signal.

4) It is possible the antenna cable to your unit is loose at the connections and/or damaged. A weaker signal may get your stations, but may prevent the additional Navigational signals. Have the antenna checked thoroughly and tested. If car is still under warranty, this should be a covered diagnostic/repair.

5) Finally, be sure the correct Radio Serial Number is being activated. If your radio works, that is one service. But maybe they are putting a wrong number by some chance into the system to fix this one? For example, you have TWO radios in TWO cars. Are they sending the turn on signal to the WRONG radio? Not as farfetched as you might think.

Good luck!

Sirius Receiver goes silent and displays Acquiring Signal.

I have a 3 year old Sportster 2 replay unit that worked perfect until 1 month ago. I posted my problem on this website a day before you did with this same problem. I googled to no end and even spoke to Sirius who wasn't willing to replace my unit at no charge since it was out of warranty. I found an unusual solution on the internet that worked for me. I place my receiver in the freezer for at least 20 minutes (this was recommended by a guy somewhere on the internet with the same problem). I have actually left it in freezer overnight too. This has solved my problem. It is the craziest thing but I thought I would try it before I resorted to replacing all my accessories and receiver since Sirius was less than cooperative with the issue. Anyway, hope this helps.

Signal Fading In and out

Most of the Xact models use the standard Sirius antenna. Unfortunately Xact no longer supports satellite radios. You can get a replacement antenna from any Sirius dealer and see if that works. Sounds like the antenna wiring might be broken or shorted out.

Sportster 4

Dick,
Did u go to the menu to get the Sirius ID# or ESN# or did u get it from the box or back of the unit itself?? I used to work in activations department for sirius and the most common reason that a plug and play unit would not activate is a mismatch in ID #'s. I have seen units with one ID number, but the box or the back of the radio actually being labeled with a different number. By the way, only one signal can be sent to the radio every 20 minutes or so and most reps you talk to don't even know this. So after sending the first signal, all they are doing is clicking a button on the screen and getting a message back that says "Duplicate Provision" meaning that the signal cannot be sent because it is already sent. If you were hearing audio on channel 184 when the signal was sent and you made no adjustments during this time, and the SID or ESN number is the correct one for your unit, and the radio doesn't activate, I would get a replacement. But this never happens in my experience unless there are other signs of defect.

Hope this helps!!

Sirius XTR1 Receiver cycles on dog screen with beep - keyboard locked

Hello, I had the same problem with my xact xtr1 and I was advised by xact that they have no repair process in works and most likely wont. They did say let it run for 10 minutes and once you have a menu switch to factory defaults which proves to be a worthless fix. I would have to pay $39.95 for a new radio...horrible customer service. The bright side is that Sirius will not charge me the $75.00 transfer fee as a good faith gesture. I have decided to switch to another radio and leave the Xact brand out of the equation, if there is no upgrade or modification to the existing equipment why set yourself up for a future failure.

NO SIGNAL all of a sudden. Gone. Lost.

Hey adam, check that antenna wire! It's probably pulling out at the antenna/magnet end. Adam, I checked that and sure enough, it was pulling out. So I put on a new antenna and problem solved! Thanks Adam!
