No sound/audio while playing tv.

Hello

If there is no audio output from your tv, either your TVs speaker or its audio output IC has damaged. You just check it with an earphone/headphone, if there is an earphone or headphone socket in front panel of your TV. If there is sound from the headphone/earphone, and not from the speaker, means the speaker has damaged. You have to replace it with same type and number. Just check your set's audio out socket, if any provided, connet it to any external audio sourse, like amplifier or so, and check whether there is sound output from it. If not, your Tv/combos' sound processing IC inside has some trouble.
most common fault is related to sound output IC or speaker itself. If speaker is found OK, go to the sound output section. This section can be easly located as speaker wire goes to that section, and follow it. Before replacing the IC, check its leads for any loose or bad soldering. i advice you to resolder all the terminals of that IC, by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge loose contacts between them. If this does not helps, replace the IC with an identical type and number. OK.

Dear Sir, In my aiwa tv there is no audio sound (,two speakers ) how can i rectify the problem, Pls any one help me to sort out the issue. Rgds, Jayaprakash.

Hello
You just check whether its speaker has damaged or not. You can check it easly. Just place your ear very near to the speaker side of your TV, and switch on the TV with its panel on-off switch, not by remote hanset. If you hear a "thumb" sound from that side of the speaker, you can make sure that the speaker is OK, and the fault is inside the circuit board of Tv.
If there is no "thumb" sound, open the TV and check the speakers for continuity. You can check the speaker with a troch cell, by touching its poles to the leads of the speaker, with attaching a pice of wire to the cell. If it is found faulty, replace them with an identical type and resistance, Its impedence [resistance] will be marked on its magnet. Choose an exact one.
If speakers are found Ok, and still there is no sound, if your TV is equipped with an earphone socket in front panel, push in an earphone pin into it, and check whether there is sound output from it or not. If there is sound output from it, and you can't get it through speakers, the earphone socket is faulty, and replace it.
if there is no sound from the earphone socket also, just goto the sound output section of the circuitboard of your TV. You can locate that section by following the speaker wire. Look for any loose soderings first. I advice you to resolder all the soldering points of sound output Ic, before replacing it. After resoldering, still there is no sound, check the input supply voltage of that Ic. If it is not there, check for the reason. if it is there and still no sound, sound output Ic is faulty, and replace it with same type and number.

No sound

Hello

First you check the speaker of your Daewoo Tv. To check the whether the speaker is good or damaged, place your year very close to the speaker side of your TV, and switch the TV by its front panel power switch, not by the remote control. If you can hear a "Thumb" sound from the speaker, as the TV is switched on, the speaker is good and you have to to further. If not speaker has got damaged and have to be replaced.
If your TV is provided with an earphone or headphone socket at its fron panel, insert a earphone or headphone pin into it and listen whether there is sound coming from it or not. If ther comes the sound, it doesnot comes to the speaker, means that the headphone or earphone socket is faulty. Replacing it will solve the problem.
If there is AV OUT from your TV, connect it to an amplifier or so to get the sound. If there is sound and no output from speaker, means the Audio Output IC inside your TV is faulty.
Just locate the audio output Ic, and replace it with same type and number. Audio Output IC can be easly located ans speaker wire goes to that section, and follow the speaker wire. locate it. If you need any more assistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya. OK.

N no sound

Hello
you just start from speaker first. if the speaker is out there will be no sound output from your TV. To confirm this, just plug in an earphone or headphone pin into the headphone or earphone socket , if provided, on the TV. If sound is available through headphone, it means that the sound output section of your TV has no trouble, but the speker is out. Replacing it with same type and number will resolve your problem. If there is no sound fron the earphone too, surely the sound output section inside the circuit board of your TV has the fault.
If so you have to open your TV. Locate the sound output stage, which can be easly locted through following the speaker wires. There will be an Ic [Sound Output Ic], normally screwed onto a metal plate, to radiate heat out when it works. Check for any bad solderings at the legs of that Ic by tuning the printed circuit board upside down. It is very difficult to locate loose solderings. i always do is, resoldering the suspected solder points by applying a little more solder. You also do this first. If it does not help, resolder the Ic out from the circuit board, and go for a same type and number. Replacing it will solve your problem. In some RCA sets, sound section is built out on to another board. Locate it and do the same. OK.

My sound is not working. I have a picture but no sound

Hello
Pictrue being Ok and there is no sound is your problem. It may be either fault to its speaker or it sound output Ic. You can be sure about which of this has got troubled by yourself. Keep your ear very close to the speaker side of your TV, and switch it "ON" bu "MAINS", not by remote control. If you can hear a "Thumb" sound or a "Hum" sound, you can make sure that your TVs speaker is OK. If there is no sound at al, it means that there is some fault to your TVs speaker. It can be due to a socket trouble also. If there is an earphone socket in front panel of your TV, just insert an earphone pin into it and check whether sound coming from it or not. If there is sound through earphone, and when it is unpluged, sound does not transfer to the speaker, means that socket has some trouble. Replacing it will solve the problem.
If you hear a "HUM" sound, as decribed earlier here, this may due to the Sound Output Ic inside the circuit borard of your TV. To rectify this fault, ypu have to open your tv, and locate the sound output ic. Just follow the speaker wire, and somewhere near it orginates from the mainboard, or other board, can locate it. Usually this IC will be screwed into a metal plate, inorder to radiate heat from it while working. Check for any loose solderings to its legs, that may also cause it to be nonfunctional. Anyway resolder its legs first by applying a little more solder, and check the result. If this also doesn't help, resolder it out from the board, and go for a same type and number. Replaceing it will solve the problem. Ok.
Take every precautions before you open your TV. Keep children away from you while you are working. Never allow to them even stand beside you, and allow an adult beside you as a pracationary measure, and as a helping hand. Keep AC power chord out of wall socket each time you make contact with the inner circuit board of your TV.
If you wants any further assistance, inform me through Fixya.

No sound

Hello
If picture is OK and there is no sound output from your tv, means either its speaker or the Sound output Ic is not working. The case of speaker fault can be easly detected without opening the TV. You just place your ear very near to the speaker side and switch on the TV by AC mains [not with remote control]. You may hear a "thumb" SOUND OR A "HUM" sound from it. If any one is there the internal speaker is working fine. The fault lies in audio output Ic stage. If there is no sound said above, speaker can be suspected. Befor confirming that the speaker is faulty, if your TV has an earphone or headphone jack in front, insert the earphone or headphone socket into it, and check whether there is any sound heard from it. If there is sound from headphone, means that the headphone socket is faulty, it does not bypass the sound to the speaker. When head phone is connected, the connection to the speaker will automatically cut of. When it is pulled out from the socket, the speaker connection will resume. If the changeover switch inside the earphone socket also show this kind of trouble. If the speaker inside is found faulty, unscrew it out of place after opening the TV, go for a same type and number, impedence and shape.
If there comes the above said "HUM" sound from the speaker, surely the Sound Output Ic is faulty. Replacing it will solve the probelm. Before replacing it, check it soldering points for any loose contact. It is best to resolder all suspected point is sound section before replacing the ic.
Note: In modern TVs there will be any trace of sound, without a video signal. Without video, sound is muted. ok.

Beautiful picture,no sound

Hello
If your TV displays good picture and there is no sound output from it, please connect an earphone or headphone to its headphone/earphone socket, if provided, and check whether the sound output comes from it or not. If there is sound output from the headphone socket, and not heard from the speaker of your TV, the speaker inside your TV may got damaged. Check the speaker of your TV. For that you have to open the TV. Unscrew it and go for the same type and number and replace it. There is an other possibility, that is if your TVs headphone socket itself can got damged. You can make sure it by after checking your speaker. If the speaker is alright; the socket is faulty. Replace it with same type.
An other fault can occur is Audio Output Ic failure. If it has damaged, you won't get sound output either from speaker or from the headphone socket. You can make sure about it. Keep your ear very close to the speaker side of your TV, switch on the power to TV. If there is a "Thumb" soud is heard, you can make sure that your TVs speaker is Ok, and if there is a "Hum' sound also comes from it, Output Ic is damaged.
If so you have to open your TVs back cover and locate the Audio Output Ic. It can be located by following its speaker wire. The speaker wire goes to Output Ic. Usually it may be screwed into a metal heatsink. Desolder it out of the board, and go for the same type and number. Replacing it will solve the problem.
All the precautions must be taken before opening your TVs back cover. Plug it out from the wall socket bfore doing this. Keep chldren away from you, and not let them even stand beside you. Let an adult be there beside you as a precationary measure.
Read and understand well the above said solutions and go on.
Wish you sucess.

Their is no volume

Hello
There is no sound you means? If so what about the picture? If picture is ok and there is no sound either the speaker of your tv or audio output Ic inside your TVs circuit board is faulty.
To check it, place your ear very close to the speaker side of your tv and turn it on. if a "thumb" sound or a "hum" sound is heard from your TVs speaker, the output Ic is faulty. If there is no sound at all, speaker is faulty. If you have any home theater system; and your TV has audio out RCA sockets at the rear or front side of it, connect it to audio system, and swich on both and find if there is sound output or not. If yes you can assure your TVs sound filtering system is ok, and the fault is somewhere between speaker and audio output Ic. Ok.
