Mysterious fluctuation in quality of copies.

fuser drum is bad. photocopier use electricity to transfer the toner to the paper, then it is heat fused to paper. it appears that the problem is occurring around the time that the toner is attracted to the paper.

Canon pc 941 copier cartridge issues

Just to clarify, you are stating INK? The Canon PC941 uses an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Toner Cartridge. Canon toner cartridges for PC941 printer are supplies produced by the same manufacturer that makes given piece of equipment. Toner cartridges produced by Canon are called OEM. Remove the toner from the machine and then use cotton swabs and alcohol to clean around the roller wheels of all drawer areas. Be sure to unplug the equipment before attempting to clean the wheels.

A toner catridge leaked in my Canon PC921. I cleaned it up and installed a new cartridge, but now my copies are dark on one side, light on the other.

Hello,
on analogue copiers, if You have dark copies, that means that You need to clean optics ( mirrors and lenses - maybe some toner get to them ) or check/clean/replace the fixing film!

Regarding poor copy, clean/vacume/change the transfer roller ( beneath the drum unit - on paper path from drawer/bypass, before fixing unit ).

Hope that helps!

Canon NP 7130 F copier Copies are dark in some areas and light in other areas. We no longer have a service agreement on this machine. I cleaned the feeding roller in the ADF, new toner in machine,...

Hello,

Enter in service mode and do an cartridge adjustment. Maybe the toner is not uniformly distributed in cartridge. Also you can search on internet for service manual, this may help you a lot.

All the best !

Page has a dark bar along the length of the page copied and it gets darker the more copies you do

Defective toner cartridge. Try sliding out the cartridge, turn it over and slide open the cover/gate that covers the drum. The drum should be clean all the way across. If you see a toner band or anything that would be your proof. 9 times out of 10 this is going to be a bad toner cartridge.

I have a Canon PC 940. The copies are coming out with black lines ( 1/2 inch wide ) on the sides of the paper. Do I need to get the copier cleaned? Thank you.

Could be optics needing to be cleaned. First I would rule out the toner cartridge. If you have a spare swap it out or remove your current cartridge, turn it over and slide open the "gate" that covers the drum cyclinder. The drum should be clean all the way across it's surface. If you see toner on each end then that is where your dark sides are coming from. If the drum is clean then most likely you have dust building up on the optics mirrors. One test for this is to manually lighten the exposure control on the operation panel and then recheck your copy quality. This may cause the rest of the copy to be light but if the dark sides goes away then your optics are dirty.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Installed a remanufactured tone and immediately it is leaving one (or 2 at times) dark lines across the copies.

Where the lines there before you put the cartridge in? If not, I would have to say, bring the cartridge back with a sample copy and return it for another one... Good Luck .... It's half the price, but there are some that do not work

Canon mf 6540 copies come out uneven

Did you clean beneath copy glass ( adf copy glass and platen )?Did you clean scaner also?
Clean the laser unit.
Not genuine toner isnt best solution.

Try to print something. If the print is OK, then the problem is in copy glass and scaner.

Black Copies

is there toner in the machine ? ( toner spill)
check the manual for the location of the glass, in the maintenance section, if it has toner on it copies will be black or dark, other wise the scaning glass is bad
