Problem with my Arris Comcast cable modem.

Problem with my Arris Comcast modem. It is a TM602G, at random times the box will restart itself. Sometimes it restarts itself 3 times at once. I would like some help, I called comcast but they said it is fine.

I just had a tech out yesterday regarding this problem on a TM402 - restarts under high network saturation (big uploads or downloads). According to the tech, this is a know issue. Comcast upgraded their network to support multiple carriers (called channel bonding) dynamically. Due to this upgrade, when your modem is demanding high bandwidth for large downloads, essentially, it requests an additional carrier (or channel)...when that request is initiated, the modem's hardware (and firmware) can't connect to more than one channel at a time, therefore, it "gets confused" and restarts itself to attempt to fix the problem. I upgraded to the TM602, and the problem is still there. This is because the channel bonding feature requires a Docsis 3.0 capable modem. The Arris TM702 is the first in the Arris line to offer docsis 3.0. I called Comcast and they are upgrading me to the Arris TM702 (which is a 50M down/10M up service, btw) for an additional $30/month - well worth it for the stability which I require.

As far as Comcast saying that it's fine, call them back with the information I provided, and ask to get you to a tech who can better service your needs...unfortunately, the "tier 1" techs don't have a clue.

The restarting of your modem is that the modem is bad or the power supply is bad call comcast have them send you a new one . Broadband will not reset the unit

Try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1. Make sure that your pc is connected directly to the Arris TM602G modem and not on a router.

Do I need a router in addition to the Arris tm602g ct provided by Comcast?

Yes, you will need a router the Touchstone® TM602G is only a modem. I recommend a Cisco-Linksys (#1 recommended router brand) like the E1000 Wireless- N Router (Walmart $59.00) with up to 300 Mbps data transfer rates; WPA/WPA2 (personal and enterprise) and SPI firewall protection; four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. It will meet all your needs.

I have an Arris modem from Comcast that gives me phone and internet service. Prior to going to Comcast for telephony I used a regular, off the shelf, modem and I could connect to my Direct TV sat box via...

comcast use 10.0.0.1 for ip address, I think
check direct tv box for internet settings for it's ip address should 10.0.0.2 maybe call directv maybe they could further.

I am looking for usb driver for arris rndis modem model number is tm602g

http://www.drivers-fix.net/arris.php. Comcast sometimes has drivers for this device. Use the ethernet connection if you can cause Arris EMTA's usb outputs **** unless your trying to do both which is what I think your doing. If your computer only has a USB connection look for adaptors

I have an arris tm602gct and cannot connect thru my netgear

Can you connect if you are directly wired into the router?

You may want to try using a ball point pen and pressing the reset button on the back of the arris. Let it reboot and try again.

Some netgear routers come with the wireless disabled out of the box, so you need to be hard wired when you run the CD or if you try to connect through your browser 192.168.1.1

Arris cable modem

try shutting of your computer then shutting off the modem, the modems have batteries you might have to remove them theres usally a panel on the bottom, in the back you should have a wire for comcast cable and an ethernet chord telephone too if you have everything. also your modem could be broken, i had the same problem
