Server dropping off the network

Have you checked firewall settings. It's possible that the Server's OS has a firewall blocking pings and\or the server is running antivirus software that has a firewall setup again blocking pings.

Use the ping command to check the network or find whether the application server is reachable from your network. It can be a problem with the maximum segment size (MSS) for transient packets that traverse a router or PIX/ASA device, specifically TCP segments with the SYN bit set.

pls check the ip addreess of the print server
ping the ip address from your computer
by>start>run typr "cmd"
ping <ip address>
if you get reply.that means no problem in the connectivity
if it requset time out
check the cable of the print server

When choosing a server try to sort the list by ping rate and go with the lowest ping you can that is offering the map and amount of players you are looking for. If you frequently get disconnected or see connection_error on your screen while playing it could be a problem with your actual internet connection dropping packets. To test that you will need to ping a well known server like google or microsoft and see what ping times you get and if any packets are lost. This can by done by clicking start -> run and typing cmd then pressing ok. In the dos box that pops up type ping -n 20 www.google.com and press enter. Significant packet loss and high ping times could mean your connection is saturated from other downloads/uploads, there is some bad cabling or network hardware somewhere, or your ISP is having some problems. If you are connected to a router or other network equipment and assuming you have a high speed connection try connecting directly to the modem provided to you and see if that helps. If the problem continues you will need to contact your internet provider for additional troubleshooting.

Check your network connection. Can you visit web pages? If not, check your network cable, modem, etc.

If your connection is good, try pinging your outgoing mail server.

If the ping fails, phone whoever maintains the server, and ask them when it will be back online.

If the ping is successful, try closing, then opening your mail client. Doublecheck the settings for outgoing server, port, encryption options, username and password.

Check your username & password, and make sure that you are authorized to access the server.

If your password & username are correct, there might be a network problem that prevents you from connecting to the machine where the MySQL server is running. To make sure that they are no network failures, click on the "ping" button.

This will "Ping" the MySQL server host. If the host is available (no network failure), you will

receive a message similar to this -

Reply from 127.0.0.1: Time=0ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: Time=1ms TTL=128

If you don't it means there's a problem with the network.

yup..i have a symantec antivirus..i also turn off the firewall of my computer.

Can I assume all the computers on the network are running the windows OS? You might want to double check that firewall is turned off PC acting as the server. Also try to ping the IP Address of the server (probably something like 192.168.1.1xx) from all the other computers on the network:

1. Click Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
2. Type in "ping xxx" where 'xxx' is the IP of the PC acting as the server.

You can get the IP Address for your computer:

1. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Network
2. Double click on the "Wireless Network Connection" (if you're connected wirelessly) or the "Local Network Connection" (if you're connected via an ethernet cable)

Hi How to check the print server is in the wireless network or not!! Check under the Router Setup page Router's ip address... Check if you are able to ping the Print Server Ip address....Since it the router will assign a ip address from DHCP range.. If you are able to ping the router's ip address and the print server ip address then the print server is in the Wireless LAN... Try the following steps. 1. Go to run and type "cmd" press enter 2. type ipconfig. 3. Check the range of ip address...if its 192.168.0.XX 4. Try pinging that ip address.. 5. If able to ping the router and print server.. Then the wireless network is fine... Somehow some of the printer's don't work with some of the print servers.. Check if D-link does support the printer or not!!!! for this particular model of the router...
