Lexmark P315, Hello, I have a Lexmark P315 printer, it ran out of ink I took out the empty cartridge and when I put in a new one, it shows ERROR message 1203. It also say's to refure to uses guide, error message trouble shooting page. When I Look up the error message trouble shooting page, which is page 45, there is no indecation what error 1203 is!! take out the cartridge , turn off your printer and take out all the cables behind your printer and wait for 5 minutes and put everything back in.. if the same error shows.. im sorry but your printer needs to be replaced.
What we surmised is that the little wire contacts on the print cartridge were bad. One suggestion was to use a pencil eraser over the area where the small wire dots are on the cartridge, then wipe clean with a lint free cloth. That didn't work either so I exchanged the cartridge and the problem went away.
I went to the Lexmark site and downloaded the manual. Looked for my problem 'Cartridge Error 50c' and found that my color ink was empty. It took some playing around, but that was it.
Hi, I know this might sound really bad but have you made sure that you have taken ALL the little bits of plastic and covers that are sometimes on the new cartidges?
Also are you using the exact same cartridge as before?
Another thing you could do to bypass the problem is to have your one refilled. That will at least fix the problem for the immediate.
Does your printer have some software where you can run a clean print head and do an align and other stuff. If so you could try those too.
