Find where the supply air is coming into the fridge part. It comes from the freezer and could easily be supplying -18 air direct to the door. This would give you a 2 in the fridge but anything in the direct air path could freeze.

i have the same problem. took apart the vent in the fridge at the top and thought maybe it needed replacing as that controls the amount of cold coming up from the freezer, but there doesn't seem to be any cold coming through. does anyone know if this is 'blown' through by a fan of some sort?

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

hotpoint ffa90, I have fridge and freezer problem, non of them are keeping the required temperature though the fridge temperature is showing the right temperature but not cold and the freezer is not freezing as it is contstant between -2 to -5 but it should be
-22, the fast freeze bottom does not fridge either, it does not take instruction.

Try adjusting the food compartment temp. There are many possible reasons that will cause this. Look for exact model number located inside food compartment bottom door when opened. Hi I am the lady with the freezer that keeps icing up at the bottom and then dribbles water from the door when you open the door. Did you say to pull the freezer out and do something at the back of unscrew the little panel that is inside the freezer at the bottom?

the problem is there is a build up of ice insid of the freezer .
What you need to do is take out all your draws in the freezer and you will see a plastic backing held on with about 8 screws . undo all the screws and the back should come aay and you will see all the ice built up . just use a hair drier to melt the ice and that should cure your problem.

worthwhile checking closer. noisy fan can be due to fan blade hitting ice if there has been a build-up. otherwise needs replacing
