My Pentax Optio W30 shows no image on the LCD monitor. I have tried the trouble shooting options (adjusting the brightness; pressing the display/OK button to cycle through Normal Display, Histogram and Indo, No Info, and Backlight Off). The battery is fully charged, the camera is not connected to a computer or television. When I push the shutter release, the flash discharges. What can be done?
I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not
see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else
worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback
as well.
I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told
the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito,
Ecuador)

Do you mean that you can't see what's on the screen in bright sunlight? This is common on 90% of the point and shoot cameras. Only 10% have brightness controls for the lcd.
well, your camera's LCD has a dead row of pixles you cant fix that, you can try ignoring it, and if yo cant ignore it, then a specialist can probably replace the LCD
If the LCD screen is too bright or too dark, adjust the LCD Brightness setting in the Setup Menu.
If you are shooting photos outdoors in bright light, move the joystick to the icon showing the sun over shaowed area to turn on Outdoor mode and make the LCD screen easier to see in bright light.
No I don't believe it is your shutter, more than likely it is a LCD Screen problem. I would suggest you take your camera back to the shop where you purchased the camera and have it serviced under warranty.
I had a customer with an Optio 550 come in and it looked like every shot was taken through 'venetian blinds' and the problem was with the LCD Screen and the camera was sent back to Pentax and repaired under warranty.
