Where is the battery for system memory?

With a persistent "check cartridge" error I have gone through just about everything I've found others have done to troubleshoot, including the setup-copy workaround and a partial reset. I looked for a way to do a full reset but couldn't find one.
So about the only things I haven't tried are buying a brand-new cartridge (the hp 57) or disconnecting the internal battery to reset the system memory. A couple of people have said that they got "expired" catridges to work again after basically making the printer forget what date it was.
Since my cartridges are pretty old though still functional, I'd like to try this amnesia method before shelling out big bucks for a new 57 cartridge. I partially disassembled the printer, and it looked like it might be on the side-mounted circuit board near the buttons, but I saw nothing resembling a battery there.
Or is it in the detachable top portion that includes the glass, the buttons and the lcd interface... and no screws of any kind?
besides where it is, do you know what it looks like... I'd rather not have to take the whole thing apart

I've bought new cartridges and it keeps telling me cartridge problem or cartridge appear to be missing; What can I do about this problem ? or do I have to return the machine to you for a refund or

Hello,

Please install one cartridge at a time and close the cartridge access door to check if the error pops up.

Also inspect the T shape vent on all of the cartridges, which should be clear and not clogged.

While installing the cartridges, make sure there is click sound when you install it.

If issue still persists, contact HP Tech Support as it could either be an issue with the Printhead or the Printer hardware itself.

My cam says "memory card

Hi,
If the camera displays Memory card error or No Memory Card when a memory card is inserted or any of the above error messages, make sure that the card is inserted properly. If this is the case, you may wish to Format the memory card in the camera using the Setup Menu option [Format] as shown below. Please be aware that formatting the memory card will remove any images currently stored on the card along with any other data. This can also be caused when images shot with another camera are stored on the memory card.

If after formatting the card in the camera the error persists, try another memory card. If this occurs with only the one card it is likely that the memory card is defective, if the error persists over more than one card the camera may require service. If the card appears to be defective you may wish to contact the memory card manufacturer.

Thank you!!

The red triangle light with the "!" in it keeps flashing. I've just printed some things off but now it's not printing. Need it to print obviously..

ATTENTION light(triangle): Indicates that the print-cartridge door is open, print cartridge is missing, and other errors.

If ATTENTION and READY light is blinking:

Printer initialization
The printer is initializing.
No action is necessary.

Cleaning mode
A cleaning page is printing.
Wait until the cleaning page has finished and the printer is in the Ready state.
This could take up to two minutes.

If ATTENTION and READY light is on:

Fatal error
Turn off the printer, and then unplug the printer power cord for 30 minutes.
Plug the printer power cord into the power outlet, and then turn the printer on.
If the error persists, replace the printer.

If ATTENTION light is blinking and READY light is off:

  1. Attention: door open, no print cartridge, or media jam
The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention.
Check the following:
? The print cartridge door must be completely closed.
? The print cartridge is correctly installed.
? There is no media jam.

2. Out of memoryThe printer is out of memory.
The page you are printing might be too complex for the printer's memory capacity.
Try lowering the resolution.

Good job in re-seating the cartridges into the printer. Try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if your other cartridge has gone bad.

Memory error 100000

This indicates that the Black Cartridge has a memory chip error or is missing. You will need to remove the cartridge and make sure there is no protective covering over the chip area orf the cartridge and then reinstall it. If the issue persists then try using a new cartridge and if it still persists you will need to call a service engineer or take the unit to a repair shop.

Memory error

Just do 2 steps:

1. Press Stop.
2. If the display highlight "Resume". Press the OK (Check Button).

The display will tell you that a Non-HP Cartridge is installed and Economode is Disabled.
At least, you can now print. The display will show back again to "Ready".

"cartridge memory error"

To identify the misbehaving cartridge just replace them one by one with another new, preferably HP cartridge. As far as why, HP makes lots of money by ?encouraging? users to buy genuine HP consumables. While HP?s cartridges are uniformly the best available they are are outrageously priced, thus the refill market. In an attempt to kill the remanufacturing market HP now embeds ?chips? in each of their LaserJet cartridges, unfortunately for HP refillers can replace them too. I?ve found several references to this error message and they are always linked it the printer discovering a remanufactured cartridge. In most of the other cases this automatically disables ?economy mode? printing but you can typically bypass the error message by hitting the enter (check) button on the printer.
