Harmon Kardon AVR 7300 Standby Light won't come on however the unstitched plug at back of unit has power. How do I get the Standby Light to come on? How many and where are the fuses I need to check?

Try using the RCA outputs once and see if that works..One other thing don't use the phono input on the receiver as it could damage the amplifier

I have the Harman Kardon AVR 254. Just recently it stopped responding. It will cut on and the volume dial will respond but none of the front panel buttons will. Any suggestions on a fix?

There should be two fuses on the secondary board of the main power transformer. They don't look like regular fuses - they are small round can fuses. These are probably open. HK under-valued these fuses originally, and they need to be replaced with 3.15 amp.

It is either a mismatch or improper ground connection.
Try correcting it by putting a ground line at your AVR
254.
