probebly not a good idea to use without removing the coins. it maybe ok now but if they move it could jam the drive or even short something causing a much bigger problem
The update corrupted your hard drive that's why it's not loading any disc.Yes,Restoring the system will work but it will destroy all your saved game data.Updating the system will not remove the hard disk defect. There is only one solution,Reset it.
sounds like the laser's stuffed. the lasers in those machines are notoriously bad. you'd best be careful. a dodgy laser will cause laser-burn to the discs. i had the same thing on my machine. i could play a couple of games, then there was some that would work after i took them out and put them in, several times. after fixing the laser, ive not had the problem again.

**Warning** If you have the old 80 or 60 gig ps3 that you are able to play PS2 games on and you are trying to go through sony for repair they may just give you a new 80 gig ps3 in which you will not be able to play PS2 games on any more that feature has been taken away
My son has a PS3 which was just a year old in October 08 there is an error appearing (80010514) and it is not reading the discs. Please can you inform me is there any way this can be rectified by myself without sending the whole console away.
