You may have a faulty power module which provides the power to the display module. You can call one of the service centers listed by Krups and they will sell you the power module kit ($50-55) which includes the display control module. I think they also sell the display control module by itself but most likely it is the power module board that failed. Replacing the control module is rather difficult. Ask Krups for a warranty repair but if you decide to do the repair yourself it makes sense to just replace the power board and see if the old display module works.
Have you fixed it? I have the same problem. The display went blank but is visible only then looking from the side.

Thanks. I don't believe it is the power module as the display board still glows blue, but all of the digital information on the display faded away over the course of about one week leaving jsut a blue glowing panel. I believe it must be the display module then.
