My computer got wiped out including my phillips mp3 player info, now it wont reload the cd,how do I fix it? my norton says it's got a trogen virus in it.

In order to install your media player, you need to remove norton. The disk does not have a trojan virus in it. This is a common warning for Norton and it says the same thing for TurboTax software if you try and install the desktop version.

Go to your control panel and find programs & installations. Then remove both parts of norton antivirus software and reboot your pc.

Make sure you remove live updates and both parts of the anti virus software or you will be wasting your time.

Then try and install your drivers for the media player. Once installed, reboot your pc again and reinstall Norton if you wish to keep it as your choice for anti virus software.

My netbook has some anti virus that has just apeared and it wont let me open anything can u please help?

If it appears as an anti-virus directing you to a site you don't know it is called Mallware or Adware and is itself a virus. You need to get a Norton Disk or a McAfee disk and instert it into the CD drive and boot the computer from that disk so it can clean your computer.

How can i get product key for norton 2010

If you really want to protect your PC you will have to find a better security program than Norton. I have removed so many infections from friends and families computers who were using Norton Anti-virus, and I really do have to wonder if that program even works at all.

AVG is a far better program, and even the free edition of AVG will do a far better job of protecting your PC than Norton ever will, and the free edition of AVG will actually keep infections out of your PC unlike the paid version of Norton, and everyone that I have set up with AVG has really been satisfied with how it performs, and I use it myself because I have not found any program that does the job better.

You might also want to install an anti-mal-ware program as well, and mal-ware is different from viruses and other infections, and your anti-virus program will not detect mal-ware, and the best program that I have found for that is Malwarebytes, and even the free edition of that program will work very well and it will do what it claims to do, get rid of mal-ware on your PC and Malwarebytes does that job very well.

Here are the links if you would like to try them out, and they will certainly purge the infections and mal-ware from your PC, and they are free programs so you really have nothing to loose, but you will have a lot to gain in PC security. If it were my PC, or someones infected PC that I was working on, I would delete Norton from the PC and I would install the AVG and the Malwarebytes.

If installing these programs pay attention to the installation because you have the option not to install any toolbars into your browser that you do not want or need, like a google or yahoo toolbar, and if you do not want them or need them then just un-check the boxes when they come up on the installation screen and it is not difficult to do at all.

I have a samsung notepad laptop.it has no disk drive and has a trojan virus on it which wont even allow me to get onto the internet.i was given norton security with it but with no disk drive how do they...

norton should be able to scan 'flash memory', and remove mal-ware. click on my computer, choose your flash drive- right click and choose 'scan'. since norton came with your 'netbook', it should be able to clean your 'flashdrive'- do you have any usb peripheral drives connected? norton should detect, and clean them, as well! make sure you 'update' your norton definitions first- if you can! try un-plugging any peripherals, before you run it. if it cleans up- then upgrade your norton definitions, and reconnect any peripherals, and run norton on them!! norton should allow you to chose which device to check!
good luck!

I can't install my norton antivirus...

Try running a free program like malware bytes first before you try to install norton. Sometimes viruses will disable the anti-virus installation when they see them running. For really really bad viruses that wont let you remove them a reformat or restore may be necessary.
