Nikon recognises my d60 camera for about 10 seconds then disappears off of nikon transfer screen

Are you transferring photos direct from the memory card or from the camera to the laptop?

maybe U change the firmware or version on the software or in the camera .

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Unfortunately, other than Capture NX, there isn't a lot of literature on Nikon software out there. The best I can recommend is the introduction to Nikon software included with the "Complete Guide to the Nikon D60" available at http://www.bythom.com/D60guide.htm

You may be able to update Nikon Transfer to add the D60 drivers into it.

Try reloading drivers software that came with the camera.

Turn it off first, plug it in your computer, if it doesn't auto-detect it, turn it on after...

dont bother to connect camera to pc..just use the SD card reader...either external usb one or laptops internal one
