I can only guess because I don't know your model number. At the bottom of the fridge at the front there should be a round knob or handle about 2 to 21/2 inches, you should be able to turn this and pull out the long filter tube, take the number off it and get a new one.

Changed water filter, now no water coming out of dispenser and not making ice making ice

It's possible it was installed improperly.... try removing it and re-installing. May have a filter that is clogged... only way to determine this is to replace it with another new one.

Putting in the new water filter to the Whirlpool gold fridge that goes in at the bottom.

Removing a water filter from the base grill of your Whirlpool brand refrigerator:

Removing and replacing a water filter - base grill location

Filters situated in the base grill (below the freezer compartment) of Whirlpool-built side-by-side refrigerators are relatively simple to replace. Follow these two steps:
  1. Grasp the filter's end and make a one-quarter turn to the left.
  2. Pull the filter straight out.
To replace with a new filter, repeat these two steps in the opposite order, making sure to first remove the red cap from the filter. Proceed by pushing the filter straight into the slot, and then giving it a one quarter turn to the right.
Note: Replacing this type of filter is quick - there is no need to unplug your refrigerator when replacing it. Also, this filter should be replaced every six months.

Where is the water filter

Depending on the model, it is inside the fridge.
Some other models the filter is on the bottom grille, twist kind.
Look for your manual or look for those clues

Water filter won't come out so I can change it.

I had same prob when I changed filter first time...if it is up in the top corner of fridge, you'll need some kind of rubber gripper to use cause the condensation makes the filter holder slippery. Just grab on to it and turn counterclockwise. It should just screw out, take out the old filter, replace w/new and screw back in. On some fridges, the whole part you screwed out has to be replaced instead of just a filter inside it. Hope this helps.
