I have a samsung SP-R4232 Plasma TV, the blue light around the power button lights up, but the tv will not turn on when I push the power buton. Nothing seems to happen at all. The remote will not turn the tv on either. I have looked at the power supply, not finding any bad capacitors, any other suggestions?
At this point it appears that your main board is probably bad. You most likely have a 5 volt scource going to the main board but its not powering up the set. The main board is part number BN94-00796A.
You might want to have a technician look at the TV to verify this as the issue before purchasing it. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

Ok, when you press the power button the blue light comes on or does it flash or run solid? The other question is do you hear a start up chime that Samsung's typically do?
With all that said I do suspect the main board since nothing happens when you press the power button.
I am glad it worked and you got a great deal on the board... : )

Just out of curiosity, can I ask what makes you think Main board rather than power supply board? I do have +5v going to the mainboard from what I can tell, I have done some poking around with a VOM and figured out all my fuses look good. For $88 I can get the new mainboard, thinking it is worth it, since this TV was given to me for free... but I can also buy the power supply board for less than $100... I am willing to buy both but of course, the cheapest way, the better way. Thank you very much for your extremely helpful suggestions! Much appreciated!
When you plug the set into power, the blue light comes on, and stays on. When you press the actual power button, nothing happens... the blue light stays solid, you do not hear the typical Samsung chimes either.
I must also add that I have checked the switch under the button, and the switch is functioning from what I can tell. I did a continuity test between two of the leads on the little button, and it worked when I pressed the button.
