To program your remote:

1. Turn on your TV
2. Using the code list, find the first five digit code that is listed next to the name brand of the TV that is to be programmed
3. On the Comcast remote, press and release the TV key
4. On the Comcast remote, press and hold the SETUP key until the TV mode key blinks twice then release the SETUP key
5. On the Comcast remote, enter the first listed five digit code
   Note: If this number is entered correctly and is an accepted TV code, the TV mode key will blink twice. If the code is entered incorrectly or is not an accepted TV code, the TV mode key displays one long blink and exits programming mode
6. Aim the remote control at the TV and press the POWER key once
7. The TV should turn OFF - if it did not turn off, repeat steps 1-6 with the next TV code listed, until a working code is found

Follow these steps to program the remote control.

1. Turn on the component to be programmed.
2. Press the SET button.
3. On the remote control, press the appropriate component button.
4. Using the number pad, enter the component's manufacturer code.

NOTE: If more than one code number is listed for the manufacturer, repeat the procedure, entering one code at a time until you find one that works.


5. Press the ENT button.
6. Point the remote control at the component.
7. Press the POWER button to verify operation.

Comcast offers several remote controls. The type of remote you get depends on the device you're using. Some Comcast remote controls are multi-device or universal remotes, while others only control the set top box and TV.

The real problem with the Comcast remote is that there is no other brand, it's not like a Sony remote that's relabeled or anything. Fortunately, Google helps again, and it turns out Comcast has a page online about programming the Comcast remote control.

1. Find the code or codes for your TV from Comcast's list [PDF]
2. Turn your TV on
3. On the remote, press and release the TV key on the very top of the remote.
4. Press and hold the Setup key, until the "TV" key flashes twice, then release the "Setup" key.
5. Using the number pad, enter in the first 4-digit code found next to your television brand on the chart. If you do this correctly the "TV" key will flash twice. Now it's programmed!
6. Now point the remote at your TV and press the Power key. If the TV turns off, you're golden. If not, try again with the next code on the list.

I'm sure you are but double check to make sure you are entering the code correctly, Here is the correct way:

1. Turn Your TV ON.
2. Find the codes listed next to the brand of TV.
3. On the remote, Press and Release the TV key.
4. Press and hold in the SETUP key, until the TV key flashes twice, then release the SETUP key.
5. Using the number pad, enter in the first 4-digit code found next to your brand. The TV key will flash twice after the last number entered if this was done correctly.
6. Aim the remote at your TV and press the Power Key. If the TV turns OFF, you have found the right code. If the TV does not turn OFF, repeat steps 3 through 6 using the next code listed for your Brand.

most cable company remotes have a manual search option for tv codes usually a code listing book with the remote or on or under the remote battery cover see if you can manually search for the code that way however some tvs cannot be programmed to all cable company equipmet

Go here, it has a viewable manual for the comcast remote and a list of codes. There is also a way to search codes listed. Haven't tried yet, but it can't hurt trying!
