This has a simple round crystal in it that any reputable jeweler should be able to replace...shouldnt be very expensive either, if in doubt on price you should 'shop' it around until you get a price you can work with...good luck :)

Girl broke face when replacing battery. Can't find EXACT replacement watch. So, where, how much and how long to replace crystal face?

It does greatly depend on the shape of the crystal. If it is an unusual shape, this would need a very skilled person to shape it correctly. If it is a regular round shape, these are easier to come by. This UK web site [link in blue] offers watch parts including crystals to give you an idea on prices. I use a vernier to measure the diameter and thickness of the crystal I wish to replace and UV activated glue to fix the replacement crystal in place and one of those UV nail lamps to cure the glue. This should be done in a clean environment and I use finger cots to prevent fingerprints. The whole process takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Any _competant_ watch repair place should be able to help you. At least you know the process now :)

Watch lens scratches... Solutions to repairing?

If you have a plastic crystal, you can use plastic polish (I like Novus #2, myself) to buff out small scratches. In a pinch, white toothpaste (not the gel kind) contains gentle grit and also will buff out some imperfections in a plastic watch crystal. Toothpaste is harsher than plastic polish, however, and may remove deeper scratches at the cost of creating some additional fine scratches.
If your watch crystal is made of mineral glass, scratches cannot be easily polished out. In that case, your best solution would be to take it to a jeweler or watch repair facility to have the crystal replaced. Depending on the style of the watch, replacing a crystal can be as little as $15--or run to well over $100 for some diver's watches. If you're not comfortable with the estimate, get another one elsewhere. Crystal replacement is a high profit margin job for many jewelers. Not everyone is equally greedy.

The crystal broke on my sharp watch when I was replacing the battery, can I order a new one and have it shipped?

A lot of the watch companies will no longer ship material to the watchmaker any longer. They want to keep all reparis in house. This has become very inconvient for customers. Depending on the type of crystal that is in your watch it may be obtainable from a repair center. We do all sorts of repairs in house and service many brands of watches. I am a retail jeweler. We broke a cust.'s crystal when changing a battery. Need help in getting new crystal. Lds. 14kt,rect. milor,Italy. Please help

This is hard one. First advise is to contact manufacturer. If no success there, then you have to find out any watch repair shop with watch glass cutting services. I used to order obsolete watch glasses to cut over here in England, so, should be similar service in USA. Last and most expensive thing is to buy KRONOGLASS cutting machine, but you will be able to cut watch glasses in the future and provide this service yourself. Not much, but at least you have an idea where to look for. Rate me, plz.

How to replace battery in men's geneve 14k gold watch must remove crystal is it tricky?

It is not usual to remove the crystal of a watch the replace the battery. All other watches I have come across need the back to be removed.

I suggest you take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for the small cost saving.

Broken crystal

Very common! Did you change the battery yourself? This is why I always suggest people take their watches to a reputable watch repair shop! You would be paying for a battery and not a new crystal! :-) You should be able to take it to a shop and have it replaced...although rectangle crystals can be tricky to find for exact fit!

Good luck!

What type of battery do I need for a Rado watch (111.0322.3) - thank you.

Examine the markings on the battery. It is likely to be a 1.5-volt Silver Oxide or Alkaline battery. It doesn't matter which one you use, although the Silver Oxide battery can handle heavier energy-consuming loads, such as a multifunctional chronograph. It can be purchased from amazon, here: watch battery 1 5V silver oxide 357 SR44 SR44SW 10 pack. I hope this was helpful. Cheers

Relic doesn't run. TheFossil is missing the bezel.

There is a little tab next to the battery that should have an arrow pointing to it. You will have to depress the tab with a pin to get either the watch to start, or the eight ball and flames to start flashing, after replacing the battery. If this doesn't work, the watch is probably junk, as the movement has been damaged from the impact that broke the crystal. I have done this exact thing on this type of watch two years ago, which is how I know, except that the flashing image in the background was the chinese characters for love, peace, and happiness. It was also a Fossil Relic. Hope this helps. Bilal Hassan Clarksville, MD
