Check the Lan/Wlan settings on the printer. Set to DHCP for address and reboot the printer. This should ensure the machine is getting it's IP address from your router. Recheck the IP address and subnet mask are in the same range as your computer and router and try a test print. If that does not work - manually set an address in the printer with a terminal value of 50 eg 192.168.0.50. Try that. If still no good, reset the printer IP to DHCP automatic and reboot the entire system. Please note if you are using Apple/Mac portable computers - your IP address range may change every time you boot in a different location.

SOURCE: Hi

Are you possitive that your iR3300 has printer kit installed. That series of Canon copier comes with NIC installed, but the print DIMM and network firmware is an additional option that needs to be installed. If I remember correctly, there is a way to display the firmware levels...you would see iR3300n (network).

Did you change the coper to static IP? If not then the copier is most likely still set for a dynamic IP. A dynamic IP means the number will change from time to time when the IP lease from the router runs out. Your computers are most likely set for dynamic also. This is not a problem and the use of dynamic IP's is very common.

If you print out a status page (also know as a configuration page) from copier/printer there should be a Host name listed along with the IP address. The host name is a name that always stays assigned to the network card (providing you don't manual change it). If you substitute the host name for the IP address when you are setting up the printer port the computer will always look for that name on the network when you send a print job.

The IP address and host name are both ways to find the proper device you are looking for on a network. Think of them the same way as a phone number. You dial your friends cell phone and it goes out over the cellular network looking for your friends cell phone once it finds your friends cell phone his phone rings. IP's and Host names work the same way.

Let me know if you need anymore assistance. If needed I can log in remotely and give you a hand.

How to connect to wifi on pro 950

I found this on google. Hope this helps:

Q: I've tried to install the product's software for a wireless connection, but cannot complete the installation. What should I do? A: Do the following: Important: You'll need to know your network name (SSID) and network password before you can set up your product. If you don't know them, contact the manufacturer of your router or the person who set up your network.
If you know your security settings, continue with these steps:

  1. Reset the product's network settings. Press the home_button.gif home button, if necessary. Select Setup. Scroll down and select Restore Default Settings. Select Wi-Fi/Network Settings. You see a confirmation screen. Select Yes to reset the selected settings. (Select No if you want to cancel the operation.)
  2. Turn your router off and back on. Important: If your router is connected to other devices, you may need to re-establish the connection for the other devices on the network.
  3. Close all applications (including any screen savers, virus protectors, and firewall software) before you install the software.

  4. Uninstall the printer software (Windows only), then reinstall the printer software.
If the steps above for a wireless connection do not help, check the additional troubleshooting tips below, then try steps 1 through 4 again.

  • If you're setting up the printer for the first time, make sure you have the correct SSID (wireless network name) and if security is enabled, the wireless network password (WEP key or WPA passphrase). This information is stored in your network's router and you may be able to access it by logging onto the router from your computer and checking its setup screens. If you are unable to access the information, contact the person who set up your network or the manufacturer of your router or access point for details. (Epson will not be able to provide this information to you.) You'll need to know the SSID and wireless network password before you set up the printer.
Note: The SSID and security key or passphrase are case sensitive. Be sure to correctly note uppercase, lowercase, and numeric/special letters.
  • If your wireless router or access point is set to not broadcast its Network name (SSID), you'll need to enter the SSID manually in the printer's setup software. If your wireless router or access point has wireless security enabled, you'll also need to know what kind of security it is using. Epson will not be able to provide this information to you. If you don't know this information, you'll need to contact the manufacturer of your router or the person who set up your network.

  • Make sure the product is within range of the wireless router or wireless access point.

  • Avoid placing the printer near a microwave oven, 2.4 GHz cordless phone, or large metal objects such as a filing cabinet.

  • Check to see if access restrictions, such as MAC address filtering, are set on the router or access point. If access restrictions are set, add your product's MAC address to your router's address list. If you're unsure on how to do this, contact the manufacturer of your router for instructions. To obtain your product's MAC address, print a network status sheet.

  • Disable any settings (such as AP Isolation, Client Isolation, or Privacy Separator) on your wireless router or access point that would prevent wireless devices from communicating with each other.

  • Make sure your system meets the requirements.

  • Make sure all applications (including any screen savers, virus protectors, and firewall software) are closed.

  • Make sure you have administrative rights or software installation privileges to your computer.

What is a ssid code for printer setup

The SSID is the name given to a wireless network when a network is created. You can choose to broadcast or not broadcast the SSID of the network. If you hidden the SSID, then your wireless network will not be "visible" to other computers looking to join the wireless network, meaning that computers will only be able to join your network if they know the SSID beforehand. The SSID would be found on the router. This is for a printer that has wireless printing capabilities. On your computer click on the wireless network indicator in the status bar and you can see the SSID of the router the system is currently connected to.

Connecting to a Wireless Network with SSID Broadcast Disabled when using Windows Vista & Windows 7 Article ID: 5451
Disabling SSID broadcast is another way to secure your wireless network. This will ensure that your SSID will not be detected whenever someone does a scan. When connecting to a wireless network with SSID broadcast disabled, you will have to create a profile.

Creating a Profile

NOTE: Disabling SSID broadcast is another way to secure your wireless network. This will ensure that your SSID will not be detected whenever someone does a scan. When connecting to a wireless network with SSID broadcast disabled you have to create a profile.
Step 1:
Right-click this icon kb_5451-001_en.png at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, then select Network and Sharing Center.

NOTE: If you are using Windows 7, just click once on this icon kb_5451-003_en.png at the bottom-right of the screen then select Open Network and Sharing Center.

On the Network and Sharing Center window, click Manage wireless networks.

Step 3:
Click Add. NOTE: You have to remove your preferred network before before you proceed to click Add a new connection. If you see your network has changed from Automatic to Manual, you will face difficulties to connect your computer on the network because the SSID is not broadcasting into the available network connection. After removing your preferred network and adding it back, the network will turn to Automatic and you will be able to connect automatically into your network. Make sure to look at network properties/Connection and check "Connect when this network is in range".

How do I know what my SSID is for my NetGear router Can I hard wire a printer and also send jobs by wireless to same printer? Do I have to download the software in order to print wireless from a different...

Go into the router configure to view the wireless settings, it contains the SSID and encryption etc.
Open IE browser and enter the Netgear URL configuration IP address (http://192.168.0.1)

A network printer must have a built-in print server or be attached to a print server device on the network then all the computers on the network can access this printer.
For a run of the mill printer to work as a network printer it needs to be attached to a computer which is on your network and the printer needs to be setup as a shared printer. This printer and computer must always be switched on for the other computers on the network to access and print to this printer. This method does not require any additional software.

Have BROTHER PRINTER that will accept wireless, It needs ssid to operate. i am using vista 64 bit. can u help me please

The SSID is the name of your wireless router assuming you have one. That series of printer isn't designed for PC to Printer direct wireless but rather to have your PC print over the network connection through the router to the printer.

If you do have a wireless router and just don't know the SSID, go to your wireless computer/laptops networking screen in control panel and view the available wireless networks. The one you're connected to is yours. The name displayed in that window is the SSID you need to enter into the printer.

Note: you will also require the routers password if it is a secure router.

Hope this helps,

DO NOT REMEMBER SSID NAME GIVEN TO ROUTER WRT54GS---LOST PRINTED COPY OF SET-UP. HOW CAN I REPRINT OR JUST FIND OUT INFO

You can see the SSID name from one of your wireless computer that is already connected to the wireless network. Just point your name over the wireless little computer icon down at bottom right hand by the time. It will say there "Wireless Network Connection, Connected to "name of the network". That "name of the network" is the wireless signal name like "Linksys" or whatever name you gave to your network when you setup the router. That's the SSID name as well. Wireless Network Name = SSID.
