When I vacuum, it begins to smell like something is burning. I turn it off and see smoke coming from the back of the vacuum (where the motor is) what is my problem and how do I fix it??
The belt is probably worn and slipping, that is why it smells. Here is a link to the owners manual which has instructions and a link to the belt you need.

I agree, your belt is worn and has stretched, so the motor is unable to spin the brush roll. It is a cheap and easy fix.

Probably the belt..
Turn it over so the bottom is facing up..
Remove the plate that surounds the brush..
Check to se if brush is spinning frely and that the belt is on there poroper
