I have an acer 57515Z series which my daughter put a password on startup on and forgot. After trying numerous times to get in the laptop now on start up comes up with Harddisk Security. Primary Master Toshiba MK1246GSX Set on the screen. On pressing enter it is asking for a password and i haven't a clue what it it.

    She put the previous password in and that seems to have got rid of the harddisk issue so now we are back to trying to remember the passwork on startup. I have tried to repair the laptop but even that is asking for a password for administrator, guest and under my name and i have no idea what they are so think i am going round in circles here.

Ask your daughter. She set that password, and she needs to enter the password.

Otherwise, find the original sales-receipt, to prove that you (and not a thief) has possession of the laptop, and telephone ACER, and ask for help in bypassing the password.

Follow my steps:
Step1:Download Windows Password Reset from http://www.windowspasswordreset.net and install it.
Step2:Burn Windows Password Reset ISO file to CD/DVD,or USB.
Step3:Put in your newly created CD and remove your Windows Password.

You can try to login in safemode and change the password there. just spam F8 at startup and login as administrator.

Lose TravelMate 270 Series Notebook..bios paswoed
In order to remove password an (educational) solution is to open your laptop back with a screwdriver carefully and remove the bios battery (its a small silver colored round one) and put it back after 5-10 minutes. Then you can close the laptop back and access the bios setup utiliy by pressing the f2 or the f number displayed on startup and replace or deactivate the password. Another solution is to use a backdoor password according to the manufacturer and deactivate the password (search googlefor it) or use a small software utility like !BIOS if i remember correctly to retrieve the password but it may take some time. I hope that helped!

if your account is limited or guest account then you just need to contact adminstrator but if its the only account on your computer unfortunately there is no way out.

Go to Orphcrakcer.com You need download a password recovery tool, but youll need to burn it to a Cd then put it in the CD drive>turn on the laptop> and let the laptop boot from the cd. Follow the instructions on the screen and in a matter of 3 mins you will have recovered your pswd

Forgot startup password
For the Windows password you will need to reformat your hard drive. If that would not be done or if there is another way of removing the password without removing and reinstalling the operating system or of using your laptop by working around, windows password does not make sense at all. try pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL two times
you should get a difrent login screen,
Try to login with Administrator
there shouldnt be password there unless you have set one.
ones you are loged in you can change the user password by

holding down the windows key and pressing r
then typeing

net user username *

example

net user ekse *

it will ask you to enter a new password for the user.
