Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

try using an oven cleaner spray... let the range heat up a little..then spray oven cleaner

Best way to Fix Scratches on Your Radiant Smooth top Cooktop

Cooktops are in many homes and are a preferred kitchen appliance to many home owners. The Cook in the kitchen can appreciate the stylish look of a sleek radiant smooth top Cooktop . Many invest top dollar to have stainless steel appliances including the following: Refrigerator, Dishwasher and Compactor. Moreover, having a sharp looking Cooktop addition only compliments the style and design of any high end kitchen. Maintainence and care of such an essential attractive appliance such as a cooktop is important.

Here is the best way to fix scratches on your Radiant Smooth top Cooktop:

Step 1 - Prepare your Cooktop by cleaning the surface*Make sure the surface is cooled* Use a damp rag first and sweep of crumbs and food stuff. Use your favorite cleaner and rinse completely. Careful not to get moisture around knobs or switches. Dry off surface.

Step 2 -- Work on the scratch area
Run the sharp edge of a razor over the scratch around 3x and this will aid in smoothing out any raised ruff edges. Apply gentle pressure to the cooktop scratch area.

Step 3 - Apply A Cooktop Cleaner
Use a few drops of cooktop cleaner to the scratch area. Use a sponge to rub in cleaner. Use circular motions to allow scratch to absorb product. Run the razor edge over scratch again making sure not to apply to much pressure.

Step 4 -- Clean Cooktop surface again and remove cleaning product
Rise off cleaner and dry with a dry paper towel. Inspect scratch to test results. Repeat step 3 until you have desired results.

Special Note* Their are many ceramic cleaning products to choose from and many claim to be the best on the market. Be sure to choose one that has good reviews and then test the results. Special attention must be given to all radiant smooth top cooktops. Be sure to use only cookware that is recommend by the manufacturer. And be sure to clean spills as soon the cooktop is cooled to keep the appliance looking well. Deep scratches or pits cannot be removed or buffed out and may lead to a cracked cooktop.

How do i clean my cooktop on a whirlpool 465

Light Cleaning
  • Clean your CERAN cooktop after every use. To remove simple spills, wait for the surface to cool before beginning the cleaning process. Pour a small amount of cleaning cream on a damp paper towel and wipe the cooktop surface until the soil and cream are no longer visible. The cleaning cream will leave a protective finish, which will preclude scratches and other types of damage.
  • Heavy Cleaning
  • Wear a heavy oven mitt to remove burnt foods or liquids while the cooktop is still warm. Use the metal razor scraper to remove the substances that are stuck to the cooktop surface. Once the cooktop has cooled, use a damp paper towel to spread a small amount of cleaning cream over the entire cooktop surface and wipe it thoroughly until the cream is no longer visible. Rinse the cooktop with water and dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Cleaning Melted Substances
  • Remove melted plastic, foil or other kitchen products immediately using the metal razor scraper. Spills containing sugar, such as ketchup, tomato sauce, syrup or pudding, must also be removed with the metal scraper at once. It is best to remove these substances while the burner is still hot. Once the melted substance has been removed and the cooktop has cooled, use a damp paper towel and cleaning cream to complete the cleaning process. To protect your hands, remember to wear a thick oven mitt when cleaning the hot cooktop.
  • Tips
  • Scratch marks resulting from daily use will not interfere with the performance of your cooktop. Pots and pans with flat bottoms and those that cover the entire burner surface are recommended for use on your CERAN cooktop.
  • Warnings
  • Spills containing sugar may permanently damage your cooktop unless the substance is removed immediately. Use only the recommended cleaning products on your CERAN cooktop to protect it from damage. Do not use scouring pads, plastic coated sponges or abrasive products of any type. Do not use oven spray or any other type of cleaner containing ammonia or chlorine. Clean all spills thoroughly before using your cooktop again.

WHAT DO I USE TO CLEAN AN ELECTRIC JENN-AIR CERAMIC COOKTOP; THE BURNT FOOD BUILDUP.

a good product is CERAMABRYTE. it is designed for ceramic cooktops and is a white lotion type cleaner. if there is a lot of burned buildup you may also need to purchase a special scraper with a blade in it. but make sure you smear the cleanser on FIRST or you will scratch the surface.

Viking Designer Series gas cooktop not cleaning well

I'm sorry to say that there is not a wonder solution for this. You try laying a damp cloth on the aluminum part to try and allow the moisture to soak in the clean it off.
Don't use anything abrasive as the aluminum will scratch.

    Cleaning glass cooktop

Hi, Any good glass/ceramic cooktop cleaner will do the job. Any grease spots or burned food spots can be scraped off with a razor scraper ( just keep it flat ) Use a couple of paper towels and put a dime sized drop of the cleaner on each burner and with a circular motion buff the top like you would wax a car, when cleaned up, flip the towels over and buff to a shine. I don't endorse any products but there are some that contain everything you need, cleaner , scraper, cloth like Ceramabrite. They can be found at most grocery, diy and some hardware stores. Good Luck!
