I get major "splash-back" when Cadet 3 is flushed. Must flush with lid closed otherwise fluids splash out. What adjustments can I make?
I went through this and called the help line. If the bowl is almost empty after flushing, it may be the water fill line in the fill tank (reservoir on the back of the toilet). There is a small tube that should go into the overflow tube and it adds water to the bowl after flushing. Mine was not attached to the overflow tube when I took it out of the box and the instructions did not mention to check it (or the troubleshooting guide). A picture is worth a thousand words so look for the small white hose going from the fill valve into the overflow tube:
Defective toilet contact American Standard for a free replacement or return to store if you purchased it there are no adjustments I had the same problem with Toto brand some years ago
The volume of water must be on the highest level in the cistern . so pop off the lid and have a look . if the water is up past the fill to mark you must adjust the inlet by first flushing the water to seethe inlet working so you know where the water is entering through the bottom of the inlet valve . thats what has to be adjusted the inlet valve is ether faulty or just set on the high tide mark where it can only handle the lower tide mark . adjusting the valve is eazy and you can do it with bare hands by a twist to the left and push down until it is at the lower level then twist it back to the right and test it . i dont turn the water off when i adjust inlets but you should , im a plumber
