Push the "A" button to enter the calibration. There will be a little
plus sign. Touch it with the stylus and continue to touch the plus
signs with the stylus until you return to the calibration screen. Turn the Leapster off and then back on again without a cartridge.
Change the batteries to all new ones of the same brand. Most of the rechargeable ones are not powerful enough. My kids have that problem every time the batteries get low.
For a temporary fix, connect the unit via the usb to the computer and launch the leap frog connect software. Once it reads your unit, (you will know that it is connected because you will see a little eject button by the leapster icon on the top left of the screen), go to "settings" on the top right hand side of the screen. When it asks you to format, say yes, then follow the remaining instructions.
How did you try recaibrating? I just fixed my son's Leapster 2 a few minutes ago. I read a couple different recalibration instructions and the one that works for the Leapster 2 is:
1-Hold down the (?) Hint button while turning on the system.
2-Keep holding it down until the Leapster menu shows up
3-Let it go and press the A button
4-Touch each crosshairs x with the pen tip
5-When it goes back to the menu screen, restart the unit
We have the same problem and our leapster is only 2 days old.Do Touch
Screen Calibration,it should help.I do it everytime for my son when he
wants to play and it does help...But once u turn leapster off,u'll have
to calibrate it again next time...
Just hold down hint button while turning on.When the Leapster menu
screen appears, press the A button.Touch each of the crosshairs that
appear with the stylus.restart unit. ..That what we do everytime.
