Okay you cannot upgrade from windows 98 just not possiable what you need to do is this completly format the hard disk and install windows 7 now if you bought the upgrade your going to need to install windows xp then put in the upgrade disk to install windows 7.

Now you can try booting from the windows 7 cd and try to install it but if it cannot find a qualification product such as XP you need to bring that copy with your reciept back to the store and purchase the FULL install of windows 7.

Thanks and please leave pistive feedback for your free answer today.

IT IS FREE AND HAS A PORTABLE BROWSER THAT YOU CAN US OR GO TO WWW.NINITE.COM AND DOWNLOAD FIREFOX OR GOOGLE CHROME AND TRY THEM. I STILL HAVE A CUSTOMER WHO STILL USES WINDOWS 3.1 ON A NEW COMPUTER. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. IT IS NOT EASY BECAUSE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS IS UNCOMMON. IF YOU NEED HELP LET ME KNOW. [email protected]. JUST LIVE BOOT CD TO BE EDUCATED ON THS AND SIMULAR OS'S.

I am running Windows 98 Second Edition and am trying to upgrade my Internet Explorer. Any Ideas?

You have not mentioned the current version of your internet explorer.
The Internet Explorer 6 with service pack 1 was the last edition that can run with Windows 98/98SE/ME
IE6 with service pack2 (the service pack can be installed separately) requires Windows XP or later.
So If you are currently on IE5 you can upgrade it to IE6 and install Service pack 1 after the upgrade. You cannot go beyond IE6 SP1 with Windows 98.

Will i be able to update an old computer to windows vista?

Hi,
Just download the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor 1.0 from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=42b5ac83-c24f-4863-a389-3ffc194924f8&DisplayLang=en

Install that, and it will check your system to see if it will run on windows vista, and which version of Vista would suit the system you have.

Usb 2.0 windows 98

Windows 98 SE supports USB 2.0. The original Windows 98 (gold) or Windows 98 OEM or Windows 98 Upgrade versions which are not SE will not support USB 2.0. Nor is there any way to get USB 2.0 support for these Windows 98 versions unless you upgrade to Windows 98 SE.

Note that the Windows 98 SE upgrade CD will fail upon completion, leaving the SE Upgrade with a corrupt registry, if you try to run the Windows 98 SE Upgrade CD on a Windows 98 system that has a version of IE installed which is higher than IE 4.

Need driver for this camera for windows 98

debra_s,

You'll have to explain what you want to do? If you want to download your images, you don't need a driver, just attach a Windows 98 compatible card reader to your USB port and download your pictures to your favorite photo manager. You should be able to attach your camera via USB, and if the USB drivers detect the camera's disk, then a new drive will appear your My Computer.

If you have Windows 98 Second Edition, you should be set to go, if you have Windows 98 First Edition (where it doesn't say Second Edition in the My Computer properties), you'll have a tougher time with the USB connections. It would be best to upgrade your machine, or find the Windows 98 SE upgrade from a friend.

The CD that came with the camera will have the necessary software for Windows 98 SE.

What have you tried to do? What isn't working? Let me know some details and I'll help you out.

Hope these ideas help. Clarify some things and I can give you a more narrow answer.
