E-Wave over the range microwave has blown main fuse

My 6 yr old Ewave over the range microwave has just blown fuse behind control panel. I replaced the 20A fuse, but it blew immediatly upon plug in. I see no burned /arcing places inside. What can I check, or is it toast?

I have a GE JTP85. The front panel is dark and both the oven and microwave do not work. Is there a fuse that could be blown? If so where is that fuse located?

Every microwave has a fuse. It's either located behind the control panel (over the range units) or near where the power cord enters the cabinet.

Ewave microwave

Over the range microwaves are generally the same as far as the rear dimensions but you will still need to install new mounting brackets and drill new holes in the cabinet. Each brand is slightly differnt in its mounting.

Samsung microwave not working

First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.
God bless you

Oven light only, everything else dead. no display. ewave mod. kot131uw

Usually means the internal 20A fuse is blown because the magnetron is shorted. If it's over 5 years old, it's probably a goner. You can check the fuse by removing the access panels but be sure you've unplugged it from power first.

Microwave not functioning

The fuse is usually located behind the control panel, sometimes near the switches, or on the chassis floor. In some models it may be mounted in the line noise filter.

If you or someone you know decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.
