Go to the website of metz: www.metz.de and choose english. Then go to their flash gun site, there is a manual available for this flash too. And most important of all: It's free!

Having trouble charging the dry fit battery for the mecablitz 4. Any sugestions.

Make sure the contacts on both the battery and charger are clean. To clean them, use a rubber pencil eraser to shine them up. Do not use any cleaning fluids or abrasives like sand paper as this willonly cause them to corrode more.

After a period of time the dryfit battery will wearout and willstop taking a charge. If you battery is more than 2 years old than it may be time to replace it.

I have a metz 60ct-1 flash with a dry cell battery pack. Can I use it with the canon 50D digital slr. if I use the external sync,or would it hurt my camera because it has to much voltage?

Hi I just purchased the same unit last week. DO NOT PLUG IT INTO A DIGITAL CAMERA DIRECTLY.
I got very good advise from KEH photography located in Atlanta.
The voltage is too high from this flash and will destroy the circuits in the new Canon digital camera. You need a module called the " Safe sync " This unit clips onto your new digital camera, ( were the normal Canon flash fits ) and has the "PC" ( the little round connector input ) for the Metz control cable,
I am an electronic technologist, and still suggest contacting your local photo shop.I know electronics , but not all the photo stuff. Snap away and be happy!

Canon 1D MK-II plus Metz 60CT4 set

Massimo,

Yes, the 60CT-4 works with the Pocketwizards.
Yes, they will work by connecting the Metz's cable into the PC of your camera.

To get longer life out of the flash tube, don't use full manual all the time. Like shooting more than 300 in less than 15 mins/day.
Just dail those number down.

Metz Flash Power?

Hi Tom,

The battery is Metz Accu 60-38 4.5Ah at 6VDC
VRLA Battery 100 20 4010

Any Pb battery at 4.5Ah or higher will do.
Toy & Us sells some of them for kid cars.

Mating Metz 60CT4 to Nikon D80 camera

The 60CT-4 was not made for digital cameras.
It does TTL on film not on CMOS or CCD sensor.

Metz 60 CT4

The Metz 60CT-4 uses Accu 60-38 4.5Ah @6V Pb battery.
Charging system is difference from NiMH battery.

Beside the voltage is only 1.2VDC per cell on NiMH battery.
Four cells will have a total of 4.8VDC.
If you got five (5) cells: 1.2 X 5 = 6.0VDC. Do not charge these cells with Metz. Use NiMH Charger for NiMH battery.

Can't fire properly at 90 degrees

Did you buy this used? Maybe the following problems: wires inside are loose or cold soldered. Flash tube has coated with film coating or flash head(inside)is dirty. Alexander [email protected]
