If your Grundig tumble dryer is taking a long time to dry clothes and not getting as hot as it used to, there are a few things you can check:
Clean the lint filter: A clogged lint filter can prevent proper airflow and cause the dryer to take longer to dry clothes. Make sure to clean the filter before every load.
Check the vent hose: Make sure the vent hose is not kinked or clogged. A blocked vent hose can also cause the dryer to take longer to dry clothes.
Check the heating element: A faulty heating element can cause the dryer to not get as hot as it should. You can test the element with a multimeter to see if it is working properly.
Check the thermostat: A faulty thermostat can also prevent the dryer from getting hot enough. You can test the thermostat with a multimeter to see if it is working properly.
If you have checked all of the above and the issue persists, it may be best to contact a professional appliance repair technician for further diagnosis and repair.
Sounds like something's blocking the hot damp air being removed from the drier. If you are confident enough, go through the drier vent system looking for a blockage. If not get a good DIY neighbour or appliance engineer. Silly question, is the drum turning?
tumble driers and combination washer driers have a 10 minute safety margin, where the heat fior drying is dispersed, to avoid people grabbing very hot clothing.. especially if it is not quite dry as this would make them, hotter to the touch.
Tumble driers usually continue to tumble, but blow cool air through the clothes to get rid of the heat, before stopping.
It is normal for a plug to get slightly hot, but it is more likely to be a problem with the plug or the socket if it is getting excessively hot, and less likely to be a problem with the drier. Firstly inspect the plug pins, are they discoloured? If so have the plug replaced.(You can cut the moulded plug off and fit a quality plug) Try a different socket if you can. I assume the drier is working normally, but you should not put excessively wet loads in the drier as it will be on for too long. Make sure the clothes are as dry as possible that will reduce the time the drier is on. regards I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions. I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.
Hi, Well if it is getting hot but not drying the clothes than most likely you have an airflow problem. Take off the vent hose on the back of the dryer. It will be plugged up with lint either inside that vent on the dryer or the hose will be plugged somewhere. If you clean this or just plain replace the old hose this will take care of the problem. Good Luck. feed back is appreciated.
1 it could be the large filter underneath the tumble dryer this could be blocked with fluff causing it not to condense quick enough!
2 it could be the water collection pump? Can you her it running?
3 It could be that half the heater has failed causing it not to get hot enough to dry? Try these hopefully it should steer you in the right direction!
I hate to tell you but get ready for more problems with this drier, it has a bad track record. In some cases cleaning the condensor out and drying the unit well will allow the unit to function again. Once a month you need to empty the condenser unit, this is under the bottom panel at the front of the tumble dryer, you simply pull the panel down, undo the condenser and pull it out (it is normal for there to be some water in the tubes when you do this), you then have to flush the condenser by pouring water through it in either your sink or tub. Make sure that there is plenty of room around the drier and empty the water container often. This curcuitry of this unit it sensitive to high humidity and can cause the unit to not function properly. So with condensing dryers you have to work on keeping them clean. Let me know how it goes. Later DRRXR
