SOURCE: Stopping cold air

Depending on where it is vented you probably wont be able to stop the air. Take the grill out and see if there is a door flap that is supposed to close when the fan is off. If not your out of luck.

SOURCE: Hello-I am being given a Jenn-Air electric range

Yes the ductless fan will work for you. I have that setup here at my house. Just make sure that you have a charcoal filter installed in the microwave where the air comes out on top. If it is already vent less the filter is probably already there.

SOURCE: we have a twenty year old electirc jenn-air range

The problem may well be a loose NEUTRAL wire to the range. At the wire terminal on the range check for power from each supply leg(L1 to N) and (L2 to N) to neutral(should read 120 volts) and across each power leg (L1 to L2) should read 220 volts.
If you in fact have 220 volts into the range with good neutral contact the problem is a bad neutral(ground) in the wiring harness inside the range.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air model svd48600. Gas stove top, electric

The switch for the optional grill attachment is activating...pull the tray/pan on the left side that holds the two burner grates toward the front...it should shut off. To correct the problem permanently, you'll need to adjust the position of the switch. The switch gets lose over time and slides on its mount until it gets out of range. The purpose of the switch is to activate the blower continuously when using the optional grill accessory. When you remove the left-side grates and the tray/pan the grates set in...you'll notice a protruding piece of metal on the front of tray/pan that fits into a hole in the cavity where the tray sits. Inside that hole is the switch that is out of position. Getting at the switch to adjust its position is not difficult, but you need to remove the upper front panel...KLS

How do I clean my new electric Jenn-air cooktop with its glass top? Do I need a special cleaner for the glass?

  • Step 1 Wipe up spills as soon as they happen with a clean dry towel. According to the Jenn-Air website, for glass top cooking surfaces, you should do this even if it is hot since it will be harder to clean up later. Be careful not to get burned.
  • Step 2 Use a cooktop cleaner once it is cool. You can also use dishwashing detergent and water or just a baking soda paste (made with water).
  • Step 3 Apply the cleaner to a sponge, cloth or paper towel. For more stubborn stains, you can use a non-abrasive or "scratchless" pad.
  • Step 4 Rub the soiled areas until clean. Rinse well, especially if you used the baking soda paste as that can leave a residue.
  • Step 5 Use a razor blade for burned on and crusty stains that will not come off using the previous methods. Jenn-Air states to hold it at a 30-degree angle to carefully remove the stain.

Good morning; We have a new Jenn-Air black glass

Any proprietary glass top cleaner should be suitable. Avoid using a wire based scouring pad but the Scotch type 'plastic/foam' cleaning pads are ok.

We have new house and have cold air coming from Jenn-air vent. What can be done to stop this? We had a Jenn-air in our previous home and did not have this trouble

Most stove vents have a diverter plate which prevents air from coming in. When the fan is turned on, this diverter is opened by the air flow and allows the air to flow through. It sounds like this plate is either stuck or was not installed when the ventilation duct was installed.

    Vent fan stays on

The fan was on because the griddle element was on. 1/2 of the element was on so 110 volts was on at all times. If I had not been close to the oven and heard the fan I might never have found this problem. I replaced the infinite switch and that solved the problem. I found the model # inside the drip jar door. Problem solved.

    Dishwasher draining into kitchen sink!

Is the water coming out the holes of the airgap "vent". If so, you have an obstruction from the hose that goes from the "vent" to the garbage disposer and is causing the drain water to back up. __________________

Big oops, Millwood. Shut power to the unit immediately and wait a day or more for it to dry out. If it works then, fine. If not, you've got a learning experience installing a new pad.
