Hi my sony ericsson s500i has a black screen, the phone is actually turning on because all the lights are turning on but the screen is not i can just see lights no picture can you please hesl me i have only had this phone that cost nearly $300 and i have had it for 2 months now and it broke about last month can ou help me?

i am so sorry to have to tell everyone the news about the problem with the red blinking light. i sent mine in for repair and i was told that it was a short on the main cuircut board. it can be repaired by replacing the circut board but it will cost more then the phone. i really hope that there may be something else wrong with everyone elses that might be fixable. i insured mine threw square trade so they refunded the cost of the phone and i got another one. they said it was a defect in the phone and that it wasnt anything that i did. they have seen a few come in like this. if you are having this problem and your phone isnt insured, then please goto sonyericsson.com and call them. hopefully they should replace the phone for you with their manufactures warrenty. but this will take a while. good luck!!!!

Take the battery out, press the on button, wait 3 min, put the battery back in, press the on button and see what happens. If this doesn't work, try to borrow a different battery.

After that your probably looking at a brick.

Purpose of pressing the one button without the battery is to discharge any residual charges that might be causeing problems.
