Shutter button +++

Power turns on, zoom comes out, shutter button is stuck partially down, like it is already focused. None of the function keys work including the set button, menu, func, etc. I can take 1 picture (already focused on whatever I was pointing at when I turn the camer on) but I can't go forward or backward to view. Can this be repaired?

Function set don't function, and zoom in function even not press

The non-functioning of the camera can be a fault in the shutter, zoom or auto focus sections and may be due to the failure of the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck. You can spray a degreasing spray on the lens hood sides and also assist the lens as it tries to come out, attempt to pull it out slowly while powering ON the camera. Also in some cases you can slid a thin film/paper on the lens hood sides to wipe out any dirt.

Tips to open and check for common faults: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2Mj3Qp3xYU&feature=related
Use some air to blow between the lenses to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must you try and open. If so check the voltage on the motor drive check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and released. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

We have a message coming up saying "zoom error"

If the camera was operating properly before the zoom error then the most common problem to a stuck lens is dirt getting stuck between the two lens barrels. There are a few fixes for this none are guaranteed to solve the problem and should not be attempted if the camera is under any type of warranty. They include removing the batteries for a few minutes, reinstalling the batteries with fresh once with full power, turn the camera on while holding the the zoom button. Another method is to see if you can provide extra power to the focus motor by having the LCD screen turned off. There my be a button that allows you to switch from the viewfinder to the LCD screen switch to the viewfinder and try several times to focus (just point the camera at different distant objects) and attempt to focus the camera. I hope this gives you the results you need because the other suggestions may further damage the camera and are only a (last resort) thing. One is with the camera turned on tap the body on a counter or table edge while trying to zoom the lens obviously in the opposite direction to where it's stuck. The last is to gently push the lens in with the palm of you hand while zooming in. All these are just suggestions and carry no guarantee of working and may further damage the camera. The biggest cause of this problem is dust from a camera bag or some other environmental condition like sand from a beach.

How to get manual focus on Olympus Camedia C-750 ultra zoom digital camera

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTITf correct focus cannot be obtained
When the subject to be focused is not on the AF target mark (not positioned
in the center of the composition), you can use the following steps to obtain the
correct focus on the subject. This operation is referred to as "focus lock".
Determine the position of the subject after focusing (Focus Lock)
1 Press the power switch.
• The camera turns on in the shooting
mode.
• The lens extends and the monitor turns
on.
• The orange lamp lights.
2 Turn the mode dial and select a
shooting mode.
"Shooting mode" (P.36)
3 Position the AF target mark on
the subject you want to focus on.
• When shooting a hard-to-focus
subject, point the camera at an object
about the same distance away as the
subject.
Press the shutter button halfway
until the green lamp lights.
• When the green lamp lights steadily,
the focus and the exposure are locked.
• When the green lamp blinks, the focus
and exposure are not locked. Release
your finger from the shutter button, reposition
your subject and press the
shutter button halfway again.
5 Keeping the shutter button
pressed halfway, recompose
your shot.
6 Press the shutter button fully.
Try the above, info from D-535, C-370 and X-450.
I can email you the complete manual if this works.
Regards
Phillip

Camedia C-5050 zoom won't take pics

Is your memory full? Does the camera attampt to focus when you push the button down 1/2 way? If not the mode dial may be faulty (you are not in picture taking mode) or the shutter button may be faulty (no focus attempt) Try to use the timer button to get the shutter to trip.

Shutter button stuck

Some have used compressed air, blown directly into the button. this should dislodge anything that is holding the button down. Also check and see if the button is cocked in the body, you can pry it back into position and it should pop back up. It is a 2 position switch, first detent is to hold focus and bottom out is shutter release
