unfortunately no there is not but if you take it to your local specialist computer store they will be able to get the pics off for you.

Backup your programs immediately to a thumb drive or external HD. The hard drive may be on the brink of failing. You can replace a hard drive, it's your information thats on it that you may not be able to if it totally crashes!

Try booting into the BIOS Screen and resetting to factory defaults. If that fails suggest swapping the hard drive out and re-install the Operating System - Save your old data and migrate the data off the old drive. You can buy an external drive adapter to connect the harddrive to a USB port to migrate you data.

check that the jumper on the hard drive is set the same as the old hard drive i.e master or slave.

Your harddrive shouldn't have taken a long time to format during the Windows setup procedure, the format operation carried out during setup is a very simple format and doesn't normally take long.
If you know the make of harddrive fitted to your machine, go to the manufacturers website and download the diagnostic tools for your harddrive.
If you don't know the make of harddrive then Hitachi's "Drive Fitness Test" is a good all round diagnostic tool for all makes of harddrive.
Whichever tool you use the best way to run it is from a bootable CD, so you will need to download the tool to a computer with a CD burner. The diagnostic tools are run in a virtual DOS environment created by the CD when you start your compter up with the CD in the CD tray.

hello. do you have the soft ware that can with it .? when u got it. ? you can try to reinstall it. or get new software to upgrade it . up need to wipe the harddrive clean and start fresh copy.on your HARDDRIVE. !!! OR TAKE IT IN TO A SHOP AND LET THEM DO IT FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK.

yes the hdd of the V2000 and V5000 is interchangeable. it uses both IDE type hdd.

ram is internal...need to match it up especially on Compaq..
