Dyson upright My Dyson cleaner suddenly screemed at me and stopped with a puff of smoke and burning smell. I had just emptied the cylinder. It is five years old.

anyone know what this can be. It fused the electrics as well, so I dare not try it again!

Hi this is an expensive repair and would probably be cheaper to buy new one the problem you have is with the motor bearings seizing its expensive to repair because when dyson made thes vacs they were made so you need special tool to take them apart so replacing the motor would require calling a dyson bloke out as i found out with mine when my switch failed i tried removing and replacing myself but when the bloke came out he used a thin piece of metal down the side of switch to press button to release switch after i payed him to do this 2 months later i got your problem and called them back they tryed selling me new one as the repair was 50 quid more than a new vac.
Hope this is some help sorry i couldnt give you good news

How do i fix dyson DC41 Animal vacuum upright cleaner it has burning smell coming from motor and it blew the fuse box when i WENT TO VACUUM. the wire flex is a bit over twisted

You most certainly shorted this out and will need a new cord. Easy fix but you will have to take it apart and find where it failed. I doubt the motor fried but it is possible. When you take it apart look for the burn mark left by the electrical arc. That is the point you fix.

My dyson dc28 brush stopped turning after a pop and smoked. Smelled like burnt plastic. The attachment hose still has suction and is working fine. What happened?

Hiya.

When an object gets under the machine it can
cause the brushbar to suddenly jam. The belt between the motir
and the brushbar however is forced to keep turning
causing the rubber belt to burn an then break.

Smoking and smells bad

This is generally a sign that the motor has burnt out. With spendy vacuums like Dyson, it's often worthwhile replacing the motor rather than the entire vacuum.

It was making a funny noise, then a burning smell, and smoke coming from under the cylinder which collects the dirt, then switched itself off. I have checked for blockages and can't see any

your motor is burned up. stop using the vacuum immediately due to possibility of fire. this is usually caused by the inner seal on the bottom of the cyclone lifts up or gets pinched and doesnt seal with the bottom lid.
