Have you tried the cord from your camera to your computer's usb port? It should be recognized by the computer, allowing you to transfer your videos to a folder. The camera has a built in memory, so you have to use a cord to transfer the movies and pics.

This link is for your manual,page 16 states this camera records in MPEG2 format.It also says it's not compatible with other formats.

I use Sony Vegas 8 Movie Studio...a great piece of software...and use the Storm codec pack to view .mod files that the JVC puts out:

Woops. Sorry. My bad, as ther kids say.Here it is; but their are two different models GZ-mz155us and an   GZ-mz155uk. Nice support web sie they have.

The short answer is that unless JVC have released a firmware upgrade to this model, currently its not support for use on vista.
