It sounds as though you might have just accidentally pressed a button and changed the remote into an incorrect mode for example, tv, or aux modes. This would in fact prevent the remote from successfully working with the DISH Network receiver. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, once its back in SAT mode you will then be able to change channels, select menu, power receiver on and off, etc. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote to put the remote back in satellite mode, please just press that SAT once and then release, the SAT button should briefly light up red & then the light will go out, you should then be able to use the remote again, to ensure remote was successfully changed back to SAT mode, you can press select or any other button you chose & as long as the SAT button lights up when you press another remote control button- then your all set to go & everything should be working once again! I hope this helps -please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with! -Kirstie DISH Network

You can program a Comcast remote to work with the TV. Press the "TV" button on the Comcast remote. Then, hold down the "Setup" button until the red light blinks 3 times. Enter a 5 digit code: These are the Durabrand codes: 10171 10463 10180 10178 11034 The 10171 code worked for my Durabrand DWT1905. Then use the TV/VCR button located beneath the "7" to switch inputs.
The remote should have TV, VCR, AUX and maybe CABLE buttons at the top, one of which will light up when any button is pressed. Since it is a universal remote, the button at top lights up to let you know what mode it is in. If the AUX button lights up when any button is pressed, it means the remote is currently set to the AUX mode. To set it back to TV, simply press the TV button at the top. This puts the remote back in the TV mode and the TV button should now light up when any button is pressed. If that works and you are using a cable box with that set, then make sure the TV is on channel 3 by pressing 3 ENTER.
