works sometimes but most often doesn't tryed banging with my fist on front of sensor but it doesn't change.

my 36af41 won't respond to remote. Bought new remote (original) but no good. It sometimes worked but then totally quit. Looks like i-r sensor packed it in. Is this a very difficult item to replace? These suckers weigh a ton. Does one have to remove the entire cabinet or can it be accessed from the front?

Hi:
The IR receiver inside the television is becoming intermittent and needs to be replaced. You might also check the connections on the receiver small circuit board for cold or loose solder joints.

Toshiba 36AF41 36" TV no red color

Go to your menu/settings from the remote (or buttons on the tv, if applicable). And find the color or saturation settings, play around with those. If that doesn't work, your tv is dead, get a new one.
