Hi
When we pull clothes out of the washer, they have patches of a white plastic dust residue on them. I ran my hand round in the asher, and it seems to be concentrated on ring that sits atop the basket. This ring rattles around quite a bit when the machine is used. Is it supposed to do this? I think that the ring rubs on the basket and wears the plastic off. We use liquid detergent, so it's not a detergent residue.
Thanks for your help.
I'm not possitive but I think the ring on top of the spinning basket (tub) needs to be pressed down on the basket. You should have a good size clearence between those two rings. I tried to lift the washer from that inner ring and I pulled mine up. Then I used a piece of wood to pry it back down. Fitting the stick between the two rings. Be careful though the upper one is delicate. You'll see it flex. You can roll your hand around the inside of the tub and feel for where it has been pulled away if that is what I think it is. I hopr that helps.

Sounds like washer mites. Put some cheese on the top of the washer after the load finishes. Then leave for at least 60 minutes. The mites will eat the cheese, be satisfied, and your wash will be good next time.
